also, skid plates rust when you bash on them and tear the paint off. Plus they get exposed to all of the spray from the road. If you don't take care of them like any other metal, they rust.

 

Yes they do! I was spraying anti corrosion on the front suspension stuffs
It looks like the bolts that hold them on are all corroded, my stock plate had minimal corrosion plus the bolts were decent enough

That looks like the more rearward "skid plate" if it is then it's not really a surprise honestly. Those plates are a really thin metal like tinfoil level thin. They bend easily and they have a thin layer of paint on them

 

Maybe get an aftermarket plate!
Or paint with some encapsulator spray

 

Be cheaper to take it off every few months to clean it and paint it
