Can not tell what you are actually trying to say here; A suggestion based on what i read is : dont toggle to your "normaly 18 gallon fillup" but adjust the SG to WHAT YOU ACTUALLY PUT IN - like if you fill up at a half tank tell the SG you put in 9.0. NOT 18.0.

Also be scertain you are actually seeing 18.0 and not 1.8

I just used double sided foam mouning tape and mounted mine under the overhead console. What do you think?

 

What are you guys seeing for adjustment factors on your Scanguages....mine is approx. 17.5 % ...then MPG is perfectly accurate?

 

You mean at fillup right?
Mine is only 2% or so. It varies if I use different gas stations. If I stick with the one with no ethenol (my preferred) I don't need to make changes in gallons filled. If this is what you mean.

 

No...I was talking from out of the box....you set it to 80 liter tank....(21.7 gallon for you US dudes) then run through tanks and adjust. From the static setting of tank size/ engine size I had to adjust mine to 17.5 % off factory......yes tank to tank only moves about .2-.3 %. Just courious about others Scangauge correction factors. When you go into the fullup screen it tells you the total correction.

I do. Works great. We even get trans temp with the x gauge settings.

Friend let me try out his ultra gauge for a week and I have to admit that I do like the screen an awful lot. Its just too bad it needs more work to be at the same level as scangauge.

 

A senior Toyota tech told me when you see "9999", the injectors are totally off, not set to idle. Like when coasting off the gas and you feel the truck slow down, there is no fuel going into the motor.

cool thanks for the info and pics. did the ultra gauge work well in your truck? On their website it said that it isn't compatible with 2001s for some reason.

im planning on putting some billies on my 11' taco and putting 285 tires on...will the scangauge II give me accurate MPH readings with that size tires?

is there any way to change the setting on the factory speedometer to make it accurate for the bigger tires?

 

i don't know about the scangauge but a dashhawk II will. the factory speedo is off slightly so i altered the tire size a hair in the dashhawk to make it display an accurate speed, so i can set my cruise control to 72 on the highway and actually be going 72.

about your factory gauge, i think hypertech makes an interface for it to correct for such things.

 

Didn't see the mentioned but you can have it display horsepower also. Just have to add the code.
