Westin is a bit more expensive than the Aries line of bull bars, but does this make it a better product than the Aries line?

I would like to purchase a bull bar for my Tacoma, but which one should I purchase? Which is a better quality product? I know that because something is more expensive it doesn't mean that it is better. So what do you guys say?

    getting there....
go with aries. the welds are alot better than the westins. i had one on my 06. the westins have the black "sleeves" on theirs to cover up crap welds.

I say Westin. i got one on my `04. idk if u saw it but i posted a thread about the deer i hit 2 nights ago. my truck is flawless. the only thing is the skidplate is a little bent in but ill be able to just bang it out. in other words, my Westin ultimate ate that thing for breakfast =). and i also was able to keep a little souvenier. theres was (and still is) some fur jammed in one of those "sleeves" lol. i just never took it out... its like my trophy =)

I have an Aries on mine - nicely made with clean welds and easy to put on. Only thing I'd suggest is painting the skid plate before assembly if you are thinking about that ;)

^^^^^and to top that off, the bull bars are shitty aluminum, and the avid bar is steel and very very strong

I have a black aries and have had it for a 2-3 years. It's been good and the only complaint I have is the paint is starting to pit....

The stainless part has been really good. I use a stainless polish to keep it looking new.

I've decided with the Aries black bull bar. I know some people don't like the look of it, but I think it gives the truck a more aggressive look :infantry:

V-Train, your pic with the smashed in skid plate makes me laugh. I bent mine pretty good on a snow bank haha. Definitely not the sturdiest piece.

I have a Westin, not really sure whats better or not. I haven't had any problems and IMHO I like the looks even though most people dont. I had Westin step bars on my 4Runner in the past and they took alot of abuse, therfore I stayed with the brand when I bought my Bull Bar/Step Bars. GL w/ your choice. Make sure you get polished stainless steel as it wont rust.

yea, i did mine one night. I was hauling tail down I-95 eating some fries,
looked up, and 20 yards in front of truck in middle of my lane sits a black
5 gallon bucket. had just enough time to let off gas, drop fries, and hold on tight. Lol, actually, the skid is so flimsy, i took the bar off, and was able to beat it out with a rubber hammer. you could not even tell it ever happened.

Which one comes as the Toyota Bull Bar? Westin? My truck had it from the dealership and I like it. Wouldn't have payed for it if I had the option, but satisfied with it there.

    same shit as everyone else
I had a bullbar but i realized how much it increased my approach angle. After a couple good off road adventures my bull bar fucked up my front bumper pretty bad. I took it off and will never get one again. But if you never go off road, i had a westin and it was always faithful to me!
