You’re welcome! It’s the Graco 4EVER. You can switch it over to forward facing once the little one is old enough, and it becomes just a booster after that.

    you got me..
I’m 6’1’’ and barely fit, but with a kid behind me.. forget about it. Honestly just trying to see my options as far as having a compromise of fitting kids in the vehicle and still have a vehicle I can go adventure in. I’m just trying to stay out of a sienna lol

Off topic but we have our first kid (8 months old now). How do I get my wife to not always want to ride in the back with the kid on road trips? That alone will allow me to keep the Tacoma haha

It’s not bad, definitely more than Tacoma . Would recommend as you have price difference from Highlander to Rav depending on model you get . The Highlander is build off Camary and Rav to is off coralla I assume .

Those skills should have lead to the kid in the back. Or just have a second one?

SO I’ve decided to wait 10-12 weeks (just until we know we are NOT having twins). If that’s the case then we’ll get a Highlander or maybe the new Venza (honestly looks pretty bad ass) and if the wife wants we’ll get a Sienna.
That being said, we’re still going into the dealership tomorrow with all the car seats we have to check out a 4Runner. I honestly appreciate the advice and criticism from everyone.
    Thanks, TW!

Hate being that guy but what about other brands? We had a 2013 Ford Explorer Limited that my mom loved and was solid for all 6 years of its life. Our neighbors just picked up a new 2020 with the ST package all black and is pretty damn sweet.

Get one of those car seat mirrors that attach the back seat head rest. That way you can just look back and see how the little alien is doing without being back there. Congrats!

You’ve got a point. I’m just a Toyota lover. My brother had a early 2000’s tundra in high school, I had a 2005 Camry as my first car, then I had a 2002 Corolla as a commuter in college. My wife and I got a 2014 Corolla S as our first car together and now the Tacoma. It just seems right to stay with them. Maybe we should check out another make.

I was running three kids in the back seat of my 2017 Tacoma.

I had a booster seat in the middle and a toddler front facing and an infact rear-facing. I got it to work.

When I switched to two boosters and one toddler front-facing seat this year it was easier to manage.

However I now have 4 kids ( a 3 month old, a 3 year old, a 2 year old and a 5 year old). We were just moving everyone around in my wife's sienna, but it became too much.

I sold the Tacoma, and now I am looking for GX 460.

I don't think a 4 runner is great for what your trying to do.

I would look at a GC 460, LX or Sequia

I'd stay away from FCA (we recently wandered with my mom's JLU Rubi, her version of a "cool mom car") and its been pretty up to its not so great reputation. I actually grew up in a Ford household and Dad has had his share of F150s without any issues and my mom a few Explorers, Excursion, Expedition no issues. Ford has definitely made some great progress since my 95 Taurus handme down, lol. Wouldnt hurt to check them out. But like you I'd have a hard time migrating too, Toyota has done well by me.

Your fine trust me, just be smart about your car seats. Infant seat goes in the middle, toddler behind the passenger. You’ll need a slim one and like everyone mentioned, diono radian rxt or one of the diono variants will work perfectly.

I’m 6’2” and need the seat all the way back and I have room, passenger has Plenty of room too. The diono isn’t super bulky and it keeps your kids legs down (not raised high up) so it doesn’t impede space too much for them.

it’s not going to be like a full size truck or suv with an abundance of space but it works comfortably.

4runner does have more leg room but width wise I’m pretty sure it’s exactly the same.

Also get a soft topper or tonneau to keep your stroller and other kid gear and you are set

Could you tell me what model car seat that is behind the driver seat? I've been struggling to find a rear facing car seat that fits like that.

The back seat is not that much bigger on the 4Runner. You need an land cruiser if you are worried about room.

I have three kids, 6yo a 4yo and a 11mo old and they fit just fine in the back of my sbdc Tacoma. It’s all about what car seat you have. I did have to pick up $400 in mew car seats but that was way cheaper than buying a new suv.

It's definitely a significant increase. Adults can comfortably sit behind adults in my 4runner, where there wasn't enough leg room in the Tacoma.

But, it obviously won't be as big as a full size. The reason to consider a 4runner, in this case, is to have a vehicle of comparable price and size to the Tacoma, but with larger back seats.
