    Sometimes l see things in movies that drive me crazy, just watching Goldfinger where they crush a large car that probably weighs 5000 pounds then pick it up with an electromagnet and put it in the bed of a Ranchero.

    You mean because it's physically impossible, or because they crushed a future collectible? I'm gonna have to rewatch Goldfinger now; Unfortunately, all of my Bond movies are on VHS (I inherited them from my Grandpa when he died back in 2007 and am afraid to watch them for fear of the tape breaking; There also has not been a VCR in this house like ever); We haven't even had a DVD/VCR combo since about 2015! Gonna have to borrow the DVD from my old neighbor (who also does my taxes)...

    And Goldfinger had a gold-plated Rolls-Royce!

    Yeah that right there, no way that could handle that kind of weight.

    Wasn't it like a mobster's car that got crushed? And also, no way they would have crushed what was then a brand new Lincoln Continental!

    Also seems like the one in the movie is a bit older...

    That may not have been the Continental in the back of that Ranchero, but they definitely totaled a 1964 Lincoln Continental during filming :( :mad:

    One can only hope that it was a preproduction model that Ford couldn't legally sell, or a limo that had the shit beaten out of it...

    They are pretty nice cars, hopefully it was one that was destined to be used for crash testing or something.

    @shakerhood

    When I was working at the detail shop, we had a 2015 or 2016 Cadillac sedan (CT-something; CT6?) come through the shop. This was in 2018 or 2019, and it had been used as a black car for a luxury taxi service (It was just a normal Caddy, not a limousine of any kind); This car was only a few years old and ran great, but it had a staggering 325,000 MILES on it! Everything in it worked, and it looked almost new, but due to the mileage the dealer did not put it on their lot and sent it to the wholesale auction.

    Then there was the Uber driver who picked me up in either 2018 or 2019; He had a 2016 or 2017 GMC Yukon XL (Like a Suburban) that he either bought new or when it was fairly new, for the sole purpose of driving Uber. This thing had 176K miles by when it was only a couple years old, had already gotten the transmission replaced once, and wasn’t even paid off yet! Also, the backseat in this thing definitely showed the wear you’d expect from almost 180K miles of driving Uber and it was WORN OUT!

    He probably would have been better off buying a less expensive vehicle for Uber use.
