Ordered. No expectation, but every little bit helps. BTW, did you bother with the foam pad in the back column?

Have there been any cases of a rear diff failure?

Have someone that knows how to set up a differential and send the bill to TOYOTA. [Problem solved.] This is not normal. Ask to test drive a new or used truck on there lot. I bet there will be no gear noise ???

Installed the dampers yesterday and must say that Im quite happy. I didn’t have the expectation of the sound completely disappearing, which it didn’t, but it was significantly reduced to a level I'm happy with and probably won’t notice much anymore unless I try to hear it. My soon to happen lift will probably alleviate the remaining harmonics, but if not, I'm satisfied.

Are the rear cab mounts just in front of the rear tires under the cab? My 2020 DC do not look like the picture, they look like a big metal washer.

Lots of Tacoma truck were not filled properly with gear oil from the factory, mine was nearly a litre low!, I wonder if that might have caused the gears to wear funky...I drained the unknown oil and refilled in with severe service amsoil oil (not sponsored by them, I use Mobil1 extended service in the engine...) just a thought.

I barely hear mine now. Still there but not an annoyance anymore. MTs or aggressive ATs Will also help drowned it out

So should all models like the SR and SR5 come from the factory with the new style dynamic frame dampner such as this93296A48-F0C2-4DF0-AFAB-ECBEC8E16F8D.jpg

FYI the sound you are hearing has nothing to do with a poorly meshed ring and pinion or a sloppy rear end or bearing noise. The rear end creates a resonance which is what you are hearing. The new cab mounts will help but usually don't take the noise completely away. This noise is actually quite common on pickups. Many Chevy half tons and the new Ford ranger have it much worse. Semi trucks have it real bad most often but noise is not much a factor for them. I have had this noise in my Tacoma since I bought it brand new in 17. It has not gotten any better or any worse.

I have owned more than 7 Tacoma’s and Silverado’s never had a whining noise resonate through the cab but not saying it’s not possible my issue is my dealer doesn’t want to put the upgraded dynamic frame dampner on my SR he says it’s only for the off-road model which I think is BS
