I was planning to go to a few RV shows this year to try and find a deal we couldn’t pass up, but covid.

My wife wants one, I want one, but can’t justify paying for it. I’m not buying something to use twice a year. She thinks once we have it, we’ll go out and use it.

how often do you use yours?

We bought this one used and gave less than 10K for it.

We rarely use it, we own a convenient store and both of us work other jobs so we have zero free time right now. We are trying to sell the house and store and move so we can have more free time though.

Try renting one first. Maybe take a couple trips. Dealers have marked everything up and are less likely to play ball due to the demand for recreational toys. You’ll find some decent private party deals, but you’ll run into some with the “I know what it’s worth” attitude. We bought ours in February and it’s leaving in a couple days. We didn’t get the use we thought. Every park we looked at was booked months in advance and boondocking requires a lot more prep. We will revisit RV life in like 20 years I think. Lol.

Good luck. We sold our previous home in three days at above asking. How’s the market down there?

The market is great but the house and store are under one deed. It's a really unique situation and it's gonna take someone with some cash to buy with a loan if they don't have enough because the bank won't loan what it's worth since it's like the store doesn't exist. It was built in the 1950's.

That’s a good thought. Problem right now is what you mentioned, a place to go. I looked for sites the other day for late spring and late summer. All the places we wanted to go within a few hour drive are already booking up. Additionally, wife changed jobs recently and we can only do weekends, which are mostly all taken.

    How’s TWSS going?

Like @Daria said below, good stuff. We get out in ours like twice a month. Tough market now, I'd hold off. Def an investment. Glad we had ours prior to covid.

We may have built a huge concrete pad for ours. Though we still have a buggy hauler trailer that will remain. And without the camper, we could potentially store 5 vehicles back there. We also added an RV plug to the back porch. It’ll add value whenever we sell.

Look at outdoorsy, rv share, etc. Find some land to rent for a weekend on Airbnb and just set up shop. Look into a Harvest Host membership if you think owning an RV could actually be a reality.

It’s going. Numbers are way down, hoping we don’t have to swing any hammers.

Wife and I have rented a few different ones, gotta find what you like. My wife wants everything in it and I come from a life of backpacking. The compromise is the hard part.

Check out outdoorsy.com. They have everything you could want to try.

I need to run power to this one, it's less than 70' to the breaker box so it won't be that bad. I've been putting it off in case we sell the place soon.

Thanks. Swing that hammer if needed.
I used to back pack, which led to a bad back. Now I’m looking for a more comfortable experience.

    I’ll check that site out.

I like the idea of the teardrops because everywhere we go there’s a full bathroom. They’re just too small for the two of us and the dogs. The bigger ones are much more comfortable but they push the limits of the truck harder than I would like and I feel there’s a lot more than we need to be “camping”. Ideally I would like a queen size bed, space to stand up to get dressed and a decent kitchen. Outdoor kitchen would be preferred if there’s an awning. Neither of us are fans of pop-up campers but we’re going to try and rent an Aliner in the near future.
