The Line-X is awesome. I did that the first few weeks I owned the truck. That stuff is durable.

    Line-x +Bed mat = best option.

You get the durability of the bed liner protecting everything AND nothing slides around on that slippery shit with the mat on top.

    Just one mans opinion. :anonymous:

Yeah I got a 3'x5' stall mat from Tractor Supply in there as well. Works good. Bit of a pain in the ass when I want to put something big in there like my sled but for the day to day use it's good.

How heavy is that? I wanted to grab one of those most likely, but not if it's like 100+ lbs, I think I read somewhere that they're wicked heavy. 1/3 the price of the OEM mat and wouldn't be bad for camping. I would pull it out and put it on the ground outside the truck. Just curious of their weight.

I got the thinner of them, it's like 1/2" and god sakes it's heavy. I would not be suprised if it were 75lbs. The big thing is how awkward it is. I can whip around 12' sheets of 5/8" sheetrock that are 130lbs each way easier than this stall mat. It's a very heavy wet noodle.

    Morning all. Happy Monday...
Looks like we'll get to test out my new deadman anchoring system for the car tent tonight; 30moh winds with 40-50mph gusts in the forecast

    Can confirm.
My F150 got a free-to-me bedliner negotiated into the sale because the dealership had done some recall work on the fuel pump before I bought it, and had put the tank into the bed. Scratched it all to hell.

Roger that - nevermind then. I'll probably grab an ocean state job lot carpet or something to have back there + use for camping/travels. Thanks!

Same down here, and it's slated to be cooooold. I'll start a fire when I get home tonight just in case, keep it going but low unless/until the power kills the heat and then I'll stoke it up. Parked out in the open parking lot at work in case a tree comes down!

Wait. Edit. Nope, I lied. Not cold tonight, cold tomorrow night.

I can get a free mat through Ford with the points they give you when you buy a new truck. But, apparently the app connected to the truck has to be active for six months first. Waiting another couple weeks and I will give the dealer another go then.

Took what's likely the last ride of the season yesterday. Went out to top off the tank and 30 miles later I felt like a popsicle.

Not a glamorous pic by any means, but that's my buddy's boat in the background. He lives in Boston so I figured since I was in the area of his boat yard I'd send him a picture of his baby and mine.

I was on the water yesterday. It was nice for about an hour. Then YIKES! Filled the boat with $90 of super and 6 ounces of Startron and changed the lower unit oil when I got home. This week I will remove the 6 deep cycles, put them inside for warm storage and periodic top off charging.

Yeah, 50's tonight. The bottom won't drop out of the mercury until everybody's already lost power

Yesterday was deceptive. I was putting up the Christmas lights on the front (South) side of the house and I was sweating in just a T-shirt and jeans. Went around to the North side to fill the wood rack in the cellar and it was damn chilly!
I miss riding, but it's just too suicidal in the L/A area. I considered taking the '69 out for a drive yesterday afternoon, but I've already got it all winterized (stabilized, battery pulled, mothballs, etc) so taking it for a cruise seemed too much like work.

Portland area probably isn't much better. Feels like an even bigger risk this time of year because nobody is expecting to see motorcycles out and about.

At the risk of sounding racist, around here it's mostly the Somali's. None of the adults ever drove a car before they came to the US, so between them and the usual mix there are some spectacularly bad drivers running around L/A (usually in cars of poor repair).

I feel you there. I try to avoid buzzing around the Portland area because there's definitely a part of the population that fits that description. Normally I loop up and around Sebago, or up Rte 1 and then back roads home, stuff like that. Next season I'd love to do some longer rides.

    Anybody done much ATV tinkering?
I picked up an old Suzuki King Quad last week for $300. It's been sitting for a while so I've been going through it, cleaning carb & fuel system, fluid changes, etc. Now I've got it running in good shape, and the next thing on the agenda is that I need to replace the u-joints on the rear axles but my usual method (ball joint press & an air gun) won't work because the joints are too small. Anybody ever pressed the ujoints on an ATV before? What'd you use? I'm thinking about just using my bench vise and some sockets, but if there's a better way...

The trick is finding back roads that are in decent shape, lol. They've done a bunch of paving around here over the last couple of years, but that's not very convenient from your end. The Pownal/rural Freeport area has some nice 'cruising' roads, without a lot of traffic, generally. And a surprisingly good ride (at least, it was a few years ago, before I sold the bike) is 202 from Gorham to Gray, then 115 from Gray to 9, then 9 back into Portland.

Nice bike! Also I'm digging the boat name!
Lewiston is HORRIFYING to drive in. I've almost had 3 massive accidents in the short time I spent there. Not to mention, heroin!
