    Fellas and ladies,

Ive been researching tires for some time but in all my looking, I haven’t located any sort of long term review on any of the tires listed in the poll. I reside in northern Utah so the summers are dry and the winters are long and snowy. That said I’m looking for the best overall option possible. I don’t off-road hard anymore. When I did I used the Toyo Open Country MT, but I’m not at all interested in any MT’s. The occasional off-road journey still happens but not anything serious.

I’m not super interested in the Falken’s but put them up there anyway, same with the duratracs, but I don’t want the noise the duratracs come with.

So, there will always be some fanboy about the ko2’s.... I will never spend the money for those pieces of garbage again. I’d rather have the stone tire from the flintstones before bolting a set of those on my truck.... they are worthless and have almost killed me several times. I have no desire whatsoever with them but without a doubt, someone will post that they are the best ever and nothing will compare, but clearly that person has never actually driven a vehicle with ko2’s, so please spare me opinions on those. They are terrible in the wet, snow, dry, dirt, hell, they even handle like garbage without being mounted on a wheel...

That said, help me out guys, I know there are 700 polls out there similar or even the same, but none of which quite have the long term opinions and snow driving in them I’m looking for.

    -Erik

Doesn't sound like you even need an AT tire. Is most of your driving on paved and maintained roads with the occasional adventure off-road?

Suggest to take a look at the Michelin line of tires.

I went with DuraTrac. The noise isn’t all that bad.

I have not owned any of the above tires but I have been researching tires quite a bit here lately. All tires at the very top of my list seem to only come in E rated for my size choice. So for me personally, it has come down to either Duratracs or Ultraterrains. It seems that Goodyear is about the only manufacturer that makes aggressive all terrains under 45 lbs. I think I am going to go with 265/75/16 SL Ultraterrains. They are on sale through DTD right now. $100 off and free shipping. I am just awaiting a response from DTD because the site says they are out of stock right now. I am trying to figure out if I order just how long it will take.

Duratracs in stock size are my second choice. They also come with significant tread depth without too much weight. I have also read that they can become noisy but that does not bother me.

I voted for you wildpeaks because I have no complaints with mine. I went with the LT rating. They did absolutely fine over jagged rocks, in rain, and through snow. I don't notice any additional noise over stock either.

Really, from your list, I have would go with whatever you get the best deal on. You'll find members on here swearing by each choice , and for good reason.

Any reason you're not considering Nitto's line? I have the Terra Grappler G2 on my Wrangler...great highway tire. Nice and quiet. Good in wet/dry conditions.

I have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the Tacoma. Great tire. No complaints. I have roughly 15k miles on them.

I personally have considered RG's in stock size XL's. They come in at 47lbs and only 13/32 tread depth. Kinda heavy for me. They are an awesome looking tire though. Weight might not be an issue for the OP though.

I’m right there with you... Would love to get a C rating out there... seems it’s a unicorn

I wish so badly that manufacturers would offer more C load options. My favorite tire is a Firestone Destination M/T2. Only E available though in my size.

I liked the Firestone Destination A/T tires I had on a previous truck. And like you, I didn’t do much off-roading, mostly Highway. Tires were quiet and wore well.

Sorry you had so much issue with BFGs. I loved them on my old Silverado. Haven’t had them on my Tacoma. I’m on my second set on Terra Grapplers and my only complaint is the tread wears fast for me. I’m also looking to change into one the options listed above

Yeah I’ll never buy the ko2’s again.... I put them on my 2nd gen at the beginning of December a few years back, surprised I’m still alive to talk about it today. I replaced them in February. I then bought a tundra with them already installed on it. I will say, they handle better with a larger/heavier vehicle, but was still terrifying.

I am back and fourth between the General ATX and Toyo AT3.... the Cooper is out, don’t have the size I want which sucks, was leaning towards them a lot...

Realistically it’s between the General, Toyo and Goodyear. All 3 are fairly new (within reason) which is why finding reviews is difficult.

Love my general atx's. I run them in 285/75r16. Had the AT2's prior to these in 235/85r16. Got nearly 70k trouble free miles out of them. Have about 12k on the atx's now.

Plow thru 2+ feet of powder without a problem. Do great in packed snow and spotty snow. Not great in ice sheets but what tire does?

Hate that your opinion of Falkens are negative, but I love mine. Have them in 265/70-17 I believe

I had the same list but was wanting a bit more aggro.
Ended up with the Toyo RT and very happy after a full season.
