That's a horrible idea. What time?
17's and about 30k. I hit, of all things, the antlers of a large buck that were knocked off by the semi that hit it. Large hole on the tread. Found the Revo 3's on sale at that point.

I don’t know... I have the STT Pros on the heep, and the road manners are pretty decent for a hybrid mud tire. Also have 42k miles on them as well. Really surprised at the tread life with still more to go.

pic taken saturday for a friend that is looking into ‘em for a set him self.

Couldn’t tell ya. Wifey sliced one on the highway around 9k miles. No one could get a replacement for a few days. Said screw it and bought 4 new Goodyear Ultra terrains at the discount tire.

I've heard great things about the stt pro, though I don't have any first hand experience with them.

@Hafaday looks like you take pretty good care of them haha. I think every other set of those I've seen has been cupped to hell and back.

Good to know it's possible though... I was planning on ST MAXX when I stepped up to 37s after the KO2s wear out but maybe I'll go a bit more aggressive.

They definitely have more time on the asphalt than off road. But what off road I get, they work.

I have KO2’s on my Tacoma and my wife’s rubicon came stock with them. They have never “fully” let me down. In the Jeep they got filled with thick clay like mud and didn’t do a great jobs of clearing/gaining traction. In the Tacoma I took a u-turn in the rain and the rear end slightly slid out. Other than those 2 scenarios they haven’t let me down. The wife seems to be attracted to pot holes and curbs (I’ve hit a few too) and these tires have held up great!

I'll be the naysayer then, even though I think most of these tires are generally pretty close in performance and that our experiences can be subjective...

I had KO2s on my 2016 TRD OR, and I personally didn't care for them at all. I was living in NC at the time and had multiple experiences of hydroplaning with the KO2s. These experiences were in both NC and VA as I was doing a lot of traveling for work between the NC coast and NoVA. I also noticed that my truck liked to wander quite a bit on 95...but I guess that could have been a combination of things. Only had serious snow one time on the KO2s, and while I didn't really have any issues, I didn't come away from the experience with my mind blown by their performance. Moved to VA in 2017 and went from the 2016 Taco to a 2017 Taco (same spec, don't ask).

Now with my current truck I have had the ST Maxx for about 35K; in VA I had no issues with hydroplaning or snow, and zero complaints so far here in Hawaii (rain only obviously). Love that tire.

For off-road differences between the KO2 and ST Maxx, I really can't give a great comparison since the type of off-roading I did in NC was different than what I did in VA. I can only say that I have had zero issues with either tire in any of my excursions. In a perfect world, wouldn't we all just have a second set of wheels with dedicated MT tires for off-road? If only...

For on-road noise, I would put the KO2 on par with the ST Maxx, both of which are louder than a set of KO1s I'd had previously on a 2014 Taco.

All that being said, I really don't think you can go wrong with most of the offerings out there for an AT or hybrid AT/MT as long as you are staying with a reputable brand. Obviously some people have had great experiences with the KO2, mine was just different (and probably a bit subjective as I said previously). Just wanted to offer my two yennies on my experiences with the KO2.

Well appreciate all the insight guys! Ended up pulling the trigger on some ko2s from Costco 265/75/16. The 50,000 mile warranty is what got me. Little off-road and would mainly be highway driving. Now just hoping Costco doesn’t give me a hard time since my tire size is suppose to be 245/75/16. Got them for around $750 for 4 with install.

Costco will not install a tire size that isnt your OEM

    "
WILL THE COSTCO TIRE CENTER INSTALL ANY SIZE TIRE?
Costco only installs authorized tire fitments, for safety reasons. This is why we advise that, before purchasing, our customers make sure the tire(s) they select meet the following vehicle manufacturers' Original Equipment (OE) specifications.

    • It must be a size authorized by the vehicle manufacturers.
    • It has an equal or greater OE Speed Rating. Not all tires have a speed rating requirement.
    • An equal or greater OE Load Index. If you are unsure of your vehicle's fitment requirements, please contact a local Costco Tire Center sales associate."

I'm pretty sure @Tiny's Taco had Costco install his pizza cutters (which are 33" tires), so maybe they're not strict about it.
