What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

had some time off and decided to add a light to the glove box.

 

I don't have much need to change a sway bar, but I noticed this is not listed on their site for a Tacoma. Were these a custom job?

EDIT: NVM, I used my eyes and noticed nothing back there is stock anymore, lol.

 

Pulled the rear headrests out so that my kid's car seat would sit up straight!
Not hard, but was a bit more work than I anticipated!

 

Dumb question, what’s the right way to install the center caps on a 2020 trd sport? I lost one and I’m about to install it’s replacement and want to avoid losing it again since they’re pretty expensive. But I noticed one of my other caps is also loose/rattley.

Wasn’t sure if maybe my tire shop put them on wrong and that’s why I lost the one.

 

Great idea. One of my next projects but was thinking of putting a proximity switch on the door to activate the interior light. How difficult was it to pull the glove box?

 

I did not pull the glove box at all, I did all the work from the center, just removed the radio unit out.
I was looking for a different type of switch, but I did not find anything nice in Amazon for under $20.00. so since I already had that switch, I decided to use that simple on/off nothing fancy. I figured since I don't use the glove box all the time, I really did not have to spend in anything than what I already had. the LED's are leftovers from the bed lights.

 

What lights did you buy? Where did you put the switch?

 

They just snap in place. I have one that doesn't seat properly unless i use a screwdriver to pull the tab back as i push though. My guess is they were hurrying and didn't seat them all right and one just popped off when you hit a bump.

when did you lose the one, right after having the tires removed? If so go back and ask them to buy you a new one. Get part price from dealer, bring part price and part # to tire shop. I had same happen after a tire rotation. Tire store bought me a new one, and no hassle either.

This are the lights and switch I got from Amazon, easy to install. they come with a switch already, however I did not like it and replaced it and
installed it by the tailgate.

There are little tabs on the caps that basically hold the cap at the right position to keep tension on the clips and prevent rattling. They also seem to serve to maintain a gap to get a pry tool in for removal. If your tire shop is like mine was, they hold it roughly in position, then give it a wack. This seats the cap, but bends the tabs, resulting in the poor fit.

What I'm saying is, be gentle(ish) when installing.

Put my new Weathertech floor mats and bed mat in my new 2021 TRD Sport with a whopping 53 miles on it.

 

Dash cam installed front and rear cameras everything tucks away nicely behind the mirror

 

Radar detector on the blend mount
Tapped into the power from the dash cam add a fuse on the drivers side fuse block

 

Installed the Weathertech bug and stone protector, also replaced all my internal bulbs with LEDs... wow, what a difference!
