Keep us updated! I'm about to replace the same parts on mine. Did you go with OEM or aftermarket lower control arms?

OEM is expensive. Dorman is crap. I'm getting about 12 months out of the Dorman LCAs before the LBJ is shot and needs to be replaced. Thank goodness for warranty on them, but replacing LCAs yearly is a little excessive.

I got mevotech off of rockauto, I believe they were 110 a piece. Truck drives absolutely fantastic, I can't believe I lifted 4 years ago and just now ditched the stock uppers. It made all the difference in the world.

After looking into UCA I have narrowed down my choices between spc and JBA. Has anyone ever bought the Standard version and wish they bought the HD? Is it worth the extra?

Just finished up installing JBA UCA's and the Eibach Kit F/R with 1" block. Took me just a little under 4 hrs for the install from wheels up to wheels down.
The UCA bolts suck big time but with a little persuasion it all went together.
Happy to report no codes, no malfunction lights in dash for VSS, TSS, or LDS.
    Alignment scheduled for Tues.
After a quick shake down ride
    hub to fender #'s
    DF 22 1/2 PF 22 7/8
    DR 23 3/8 PR 23 3/4

Pretty happy with it so far.
I now have a Pro Comp 2.25" top spacer lift avail if anyone looking for 1! Hardly used! lol

Anyone else’s look like this? Two months old and rusty. Between that and the failing boot, I must have really gotten a bad/cheap batch of joints...anxious to hear from them on a solution.097DE7F0-A1C7-4453-9BE5-4F0A6AE35447.jpg

Keep an eye on your boots. I posted a picture a couple pages back. They know it’s an issue and are sorting it out from what they told me.

Do you happen to have the size of washer you used? I'm thinking about adding some to mine but wasn't sure what size they are.

So I emailed about the rust and to get an update on the boots-

"High strength, high carbon steel rusts, it is what it is. We could make them of a more rust resistant alloy but they wouldn`t be as strong or last as long. We choose the higher strength option for it`s durability. Spray a little WD-40 etc. on it if the rust bothers you. We`re still working with the manufacturer and other companies on the boot issue. We`ve got some new prototypes in testing but no "final solution" yet. We`ll do a press release when we have a solution we`re 100% happy with."

Its just surface rust... Not an issue. If you dont want to look at it, then youll have to look into something like fluid film

Yeah I’m not worried about it, just surprised seeing it so fast on something new and wanted to make sure it was normal.

I'm about to pic up a set of used High caster std. UCA's local to me. They don't have any washers or nuts.
Based on this pic on the site:
I shouldn't need any spacers or anything for install. Just he washers (can get from JBA site for $20 shipped) and the m14x1.5 locking nylon nuts (local hardware store).
Shouldn't need ancy washers under the book b/c it has the style shown in the pic, and don't need the nut spacer b/c it's a JBA 7.0 and not and 8.0 (which i think is a jeep UCA anyways).
Am I correct is my thought process here?
Also are the washer for the bushings only available at JBA or do people order or find them other places? Don't know the specs of the insides. I know the outsides are stock specs b/c you reuse the stock outside ones right?

Washers are not reused from stock. JBA supplies 2 different thickness of washer for the bushings. Thick washers on outside edges, and thin washers for inside between frame and bushing.

Okay thanks. The washer kit comes with 4 thin and 4 thick so I'll be good there. All I should need after that are the m14x1.5 stud nuts for the ball joints right?
