No sway control setup, it was a rental and the owner there was not a good guy to work with. A weight distributing hitch would have fixed everything but the guy was a real douche.

 

Sadly there are a lot of those out there.

That sucks on that experience. The one we rented from before we bought wasn’t there when we picked it up but a guy that he works with was and showed me how to hook it up with the chain setup. We rented a Winnebago micro mini 1700BH. It was a single axle but was way too small for 3 of us.

I actually looked at a passport on that trip another taco owner had and he let me look at it. His didn’t have the slideout and he said it pulled great with a 3rd gen. His was 4200 lbs. I ended up with the same one just with a slideout but we were happy with the extra room the slideout gave. I was fine towing it and never felt like it was scary towing it. Every person is different with their comfort level though. A good WDH makes a huge difference though.


My friend with the 22’ passport saw my hitch on a trip together and was impressed with how easy it was to hook up. I ended up running across one at a trailer place and got one for him. Called him the other day to tell him I got a surprise for him and we need to meet up. Haha

 

That’s why I rent, have one for a weekend and then let someone else worry about storage and maintenance.

Had to self teach, played around with it pretty much was an afternoon. Was pretty easy. WDH though I think ya nailed is about individual comfort level. Part of me wishes I had gone bigger taco, to go for a bigger trailer back in the day. Lol

 

There some campers around here that cost more than my house.

 

Ya we have been looking at buying a 30'+ camper and when you get into the larger ones they can get stupidly priced quickly. We have found a few we like in the $18k to $25k range. We want a bunkhouse one so our daughter can bring a friend and they can go in there and close the door to be annoying.
