Ooh I was about to buy a megamat so we would have a mattress when we visit her brothers (no extra bed). What is the name of the exped copy?

Camp Dreamer. He loves it and i wanted to try it in my Odyssey to leave in there so i figured i'd give it a shot for $100+ cheaper

This looks like it might be true. What a shame. The Megamat Duo was 52" wide which was perfect to fit between the hinges on my RTT.

Edit: Looks like the DeepSleep Mat 7.5 Duo is intended to replace the MegaMat Duo. Unfortunately, it is a bit too wide at 55". It also is about 1" less thick, 3.0" compared to 3.9". R value remains about the same.

 

Could always get the Exped Megamat Max Duo 15. As long as it collapses down enough for you, would be even more comfy . Think Backcountry has them on sale. I just snagged the last exped megamat duo LW that GearCoop had on sale. We need a mattress for guests when entire families come, so it will work perfectly for that and when I do get out to camp.

Ah, you are right. I stand corrected. Apologies for the mis-information.

 

Looks like the Duo LW is still available on Exped's site.

They were out of stock of these for several months earlier this year as well. I sent an email to the company (since I'm always recommending these mattresses to everyone) to see what was going on, and they said that they're having a hard time keeping them in stock due to COVID. Two-pronged issue going on: (1) lots more people buying them and (2) hard to import from Switzerland with everything going on.

So, could just be that, as opposed to being discontinued.

The Deepsleep looks interesting though - a nice way to save a little space too!

 

This makes more sense. It would give them the 7.5 at 3" thick (R=8.5), the 10 at 4" thick (R=8.1) and the 15 at 6" thick (R= a whopping 10.6).

 

Went camping in the dez again this last weekend and experienced some high winds (25-30mph gusts 35+). I tied the rainfly down with bungy cords, which works for light wind, but did not work for high winds. Should I have just taken the rainfly off? Anyone with experience in the wind with this style tent (see photo), please chime in.
We ended up in a 4 season ground tent with no problem in the wind.

 

Removing the rainfly from my Tepui Auttanna has been a game changer with the winds...

 

I'm with @Tombiology70. We pull the rainfly in high winds. It creates a lot less noise and puts a lot less wear and tear on your rainfly and tent.

 

This. Removing is really the only option. Mine got destroyed in a wind storm in the desert. Should have pulled it.
