Favorite Whiskey?

I'm in the south bay, and there's 2 BevMos on the way to the closest Total Wine, so I don't get into that store very often, also I haven't been drinking all that much during the lockdowns and have a ton of booze around the house so I don't make a lot of liquor runs to begin with.

 

So far it's an epic fail. BevMo website sucks under normal conditions, but when they have some allocated stuff it fails spectacularly. I've been trying for a few hours and I'm done. Looks like there are a few who were able to get something in their cart, only to have it crump and dump it. I think just a very few actually got confirmation.

I did find these two at the local Raley's last night. Grabbed the High West and Michter's 10.

 

Got lucky today. Hit a local joint in myrtle beach. It’s always first come first serve on the good stuff. Took my father in law and mother in law with me. Walked out with 3 bottles of pappy 10!

All the 23,15,12 and stagg was gone. We were numbers 16.17.18 in line. I will buy 10yr all day long at retail though.

I’m set for a while. Gotta crush some others before I crack one. Best part was paid 89 bucks a bottle!

 

BevMos site is working now, it says they have 32 of the birthday bourbon available and 8 of the anniversary. Everything else is sold out

 

I got the Birthday bourbon in my cart, credit card entered, confirmation symbol spinning.... then FAIL! They stocked out between my adding it to my cart and them processing the credit card. Lol. I need a drink.

 

Nice job on the M10B. I know a spot that has it pretty consistently at $175 and picked some up two weeks ago for that. Pretty happy with it.
I called M&B and they said they're supposed to post something on their Instagram for today. Nothing yet. I'll let you know if it's any good. Either way, I'll probably stop by there on the way home tonight.

I found out they charged my card, then reversed it...

 

I may have to get an Instagram account just for M&B. Seems like a lot of good bottles to be had there, if you know when they drop.

go back and buy 2, probably my favorite bottle I opened this year.

 

It was the 4 year. I already have a 4 and 6 year, plus the 4 is readily available around here. Now, if it was the 6 or higher, damn skippy I would have snatched it up!

 

During their Elijah Craig Store Pick drop last week, they released OF150, EC18, Old Fitz, M10B, and Blantons. Wish I knew about it but I was stuck in the middle of moving anyways.
I've got post notifications on for them now, so hopefully I don't miss anything that good again.

I've been so on the fence about buying some Willett Rye

 

What do you think about their prices? I picked up 2 Little Book ch4 for some guys and the prices were ridiculously low.

 

I haven't actually been in yet, but over the phone they told me M10B was $129 - right at retail.
I'll take a decent walk around this evening and sort of price check

Such a great pour. Prolly the most underrated bourbon ever made imo.
