I don't see any issues with Tranny temps. I'm in 190 range on long drives.
I'm stock, 245/75 WP tires. I like hugging a left lane...

I'm in the same temp range, but with a modified half lock in third and fourth gears. Just took a 3 hour round trip yesterday and monitored the whole way. I'm thinking the extra rotating mass and lack of gearing contributes to the extra heat of the transmission. 275/70/18s steel front bumper etc. About 5200# of rolling weight.

Glad you liked it! Driving this Tacoma with the M+W 3.1 file update is like a turtle on steroids especially with ECT (wild mode) engaged! No longer is it standard to have the Extra Crispy Taco on after every startup but the fun button to unleash its full potential! Just be careful about utilizing Wild mode during the winter season. Only additional upgrade we need is the same results for cruise control.

I live in SE Georgia, won't be seeing any snow or ice around here. Lol

What will changing tire size do anyways? I used to assume it would fix the speedometer, but was proven wrong a while back.

After some time I guess I'll see how it affects me. I either drive in shitty stop-and-go traffic or I'm driving 79 on the interstate. Neither of those really offer great MPG's. And even if I do take a hit, it's still better than my Tundra that couldn't even make a 240 mile round trip without needing another fill up.

Mine decreased too but that’s because MD tweaked the tune so that it holds gears longer. I’m running 32’s with 5.29s and truck runs much better if I can keep rpms up some which of course decreases mpg’s.I don’t drive enough to care and the truck is a lot more fun to drive.Seems much faster.

I can't imagine how touchy it feels with 5.29's. It's touchy with stock gearing for me.

Yep it is. My wife drives it too so I had MD desensitize the mild side of the tune. The Ect side takes a bit to get used to but it’s fine now.Truck is really pretty quick for a 6.

Yeah I just upped to 35’s and 5.29. It’s driving good. But I only have like 20 miles on the tires lol

To those talking about the MPG drop: I loaded @Mooseditty17 MW3.1 with @PapaRee touch to make it a premium octane version. Drove it for a few hundred miles and averaged a 2+ mpg loss. While the tune was otherwise GREAT, I was bummed about the mpg loss. Just now, I loaded moose’s original file (87 version) and mpg jumped up and passed all prior tunes’ fuel economy. On my drive back to work (ran home to flash truck) I got 22 mpg. I’ve always ran 91 and will continue to do so.

So you're running the regular octane tune but using 91 octane in your tank? Interesting...

nope, I lost about 2mpg as well...for me, it holds gears too long in 4th and 5th. I'll be going back to the regular 2.0 tune as I have the weird combo of 35's and 4.30 gears, the 2.0 35 tune worked really well for me.

I may just have to give that a shot then. Although, I need to drive on the premium version a little longer before I know how it has affected me. Like I previously mentioned, I had never seen my truck read +18 MPG, in my 2020 or my 2017. So if it stays this way I'll still be satisfied. If it does drop some, then I've got nothing to lose. Thanks for the insight!

I believe adjustments for gears and tire size are fairly easy in VF. You could start with moose’s file and make the adjustments??
