So I filed a claim after someone smashed my front bumper and took off. My question is does anyone have an idea how much insurance will pay out to replace the front bumper.
I went with the option for ins. to send me a check for the repairs and I'm hoping to replace it with a plate bumper.

They’ll pay whatever the estimate is minus your deductible.

Since you want to change to a steel bumper, you want to maximize the claim. The insurance company will pressure you to go with an aftermarket bumper cover. Tell them you want OEM.

If you can get an oem still it’s cheap $200 plus paint. If all you need is the bumper cover and paint you aren’t making much after your deductible.

That's not how it works. If you signed an insurance policy that says the insurance carrier can use LKQ or AM parts you'll get the most cost effective part. There's a 99.9% chance this is the case. Some carrier offer OE only endorsements on their policies, Amica only uses OE parts.

Yeh, I did a claim after I hit a full size tire rolling down the freeway....

don’t recall exactly what they gave me but think was $1500-$2000...no hood or fender damage...bought myself a Pelfreybilt with it!
