I had a Cherokee with the HP D30, and later got a Rubicon with the D44. Are you telling me that D44 was as weak as the D30? I’m glad I didn’t know that when I had these because I beat the hell out of the Rubi thinking it was strong!

That's what I blew up, was an XJ HP D30. It's pretty much the same housing and shafts as the D44. I think the rubi D44 gets a few more splines, but my jeep memory is getting old at this point.

The HP D30 was a stout front axle though. upgrade to 35 spline chromolly shafts and an ARB and you could beat on it with 35's all day long.

Dusy Ershim is not for the faint of heart. That trail tears built rigs up.

I was poking fun. I basically blew up a D44 going up a dirt road lol

I also blew up a Ford D44 (a real D44) at moonrocks jumping my '79 F150. Because I'm smart like that ya know.

Dusy is my second favorite trail with Coyote Lake being my favorite. The Dusy isn't super hard but it's so long you have to be on your A game for the whole thing. It's just hard enough to keep the peanut gallery out and just easy enough that you can do it with a well built IFS rig.

I hauled this tub of awesome through a lot of those trails. '79 F150. 351m bored .060 over. 35" BFG M/Ts and a couple bumpers built here locally.

Bought that truck ready to run for $2500 and rattle canned it black with walmart spray paint in my parent's driveway.

Man I miss being poor and in college. I've been looking for another '79 F150 to buy and restore. They're all $7k + now. I bought mine as a toy and beat the piss out of it. Ah well. Youthful stupidity.

I think you're right. I had dusy confuzzled with fordyce in my mind. Those waterfalls on ford are a bitch.
Dusy is tough in its own right though.

Fordyce is the only trail I've run that I was glad it was over when I was done. It just sucks you in and then gets harder and harder and harder. It's as hard as a lot of stuff in Johnson Valley and it's 20 times longer then anything in Johnson Valley. lol

    PLTR this week. Ouch :(
I saw the writing on the wall and cashed my options a couple weeks ago. I have one lonely 1/15 $30c I paid $600 for. I didn't think we were quiiiite at the top. Might break even on that. Maybe. Prolly not the way it's looking lol.

I loaded up on my shares to buy and hold. It'll climb back up, but the roller coaster meme ride was kicked squarely in the balls by shittron and morgan stanley this week. They shorted the shit out of it and yanked untold millions of retail dollars in options.
ARKK buying in blocks all the way down, which is good news.

Oh, anybody looking for a cheap buy and hold (1+ years) RYCEY. Airlines will come back (more engines) and they're about to acquire some automation companies.

Not sure where I left off. Retiring quite soon now, so in preparation of rolling my 401K I sold everything except 2 different bonds (2023 and 2025). This total is around 17% of my investable funds, which despite that number being under 20% is a large chunk of change, been 15 years with this company maxing out the 401K -matching and geezer catch up extra 5%. But for those just starting - it is a way of demonstrating how important starting early and big is. I started under 25 years old (now 62) - plenty of stupid and smart decisions on that path.

Anyway today I sold some fat cash covered puts on ABBV and bought BOIL at the market close.

BOIL just looks flat to me in the near term, and it hasn't had an impressive year. I don't think it's going to print the fat cash you want. Pablo you think it hit the bottom?

Lol it was at $600 Nov 2018. Imagine buying on that ride up and getting stuck holding the bag. That'd make you cry.

Boil is just a trading vehicle not a hold. It's currently a little volatile in the 24-29 range, I start nibbling at 26, if it goes to 24, I buy more, if it goes to 27-28-29 I sell. It follows the weather.

ABBV is not my favorite but look at the $90 or $92 strike puts, sell them for a healthy premium if you look out to Feb Mar.

Just got off the phone with the local ARE dealer. Shell is ordered! Almost feel kinda guilty buying it with basically free money. Oh well.

Went with the ARE Overland pretty much optioned out. I know for a fact if I was spending my "hard earned" money, I woulda cheaped out. This way I got everything I wanted.

Time to reload and do it again. Next thing on the list will either be a tankless water heater or if I get really lucky, KTM 790 Adventure :D

Still playing with the bank's money, so lets keep pulling that slot machine lever!
