So I take my truck in for a ticking noise from the blower fan which is a TSB and mentioned that it was to them and they took it back to check it out and agreed. So while I was there, I asked what qualifies my truck for the TSB for the rear springs to be done, to see what they would say, and the tech went to his computer and pulled up the TSB for it and ordered the parts no questions/tests asked! So now I'm getting the fan fixed and brand new trd shocks in the box since I have 5100s already installed and kept my originals! Not to mention basically a free AAL! So I would have to say I had a damn nice experience today! Anyone else have any luck like this? :D

    Why new TRD shocks?

That's cool of them to do that for you.

They said that in order to the the TSB they had to replace the leaf springs, shocks, and something else. And they have to send the parts they take off back to toyota so he said to bring in my originals that came off the truck and he would through the new ones in the back of my truck in the boxes.

My dealer just did my tsb this week and I believe for 2010 they just replace spring packs and not shocks. I could be wrong but believe I have seen that in another thread also.

I just had to fight with my dealer to do the blower. Piss me off. They said that the noise could be replicated.

That's correct. For the '09+ they are not required to replace the shocks.

However, my dealer did so anyway, even after I showed them the TSB which stated I did not need new shocks.

Go to a dealer that has already done the TSB on someone elses truck. Then they won't give you any trouble.

Here's a thread with a bunch of dealers who have done the TSB.

That's pretty awesome the dealer did that, I just got my taco back in August, it's an 05, does the 05 qualify for the TSB? and I guess first off How can I tell if the TSB has been done? I'm guessing the obvious and see how many leafs are under there!

The dealer replaced my leaf packs on the TSB but no shocks. He showed me the TSB and the shocks on my TRD Sport vin # XXXXX were already upgraded from the factory. It did say that the Off Road needed the upgrade. Not all stealership experiences are bad, just most.

I'm not sure on the 05's. I know I'm doing mine under warranty. Thats the only way I know to see if it has been done. If I read correctly it goes from 3 to 4 leafs including the overload leaf. If your bed doesn't sag under a heavy/moderate load you don't need it. If its out of warranty an AAL is the same thing I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I took my 2008 in this morning at 9:00 AM for the spring TSB and got the truck back at 2:30 PM and it was not only done but vacuumed and washed at no expense. I have had nothing but good service at Magic Toyota in Lynnwood Wa.
