Looks very clean. Where did you end up getting the bezel kit and head unit? I have a 2006 and I'm not a huge fan of some of the mounting kits available for the '06.

Thanks! i love it. I was on the same boat bc i didn’t want the golf ball finish and liked how the gloss looked of the radio i had before which was a factory entune from a 14. I went with the Metra 95-8235 Dash Kit Gloss Charcoal. You have to cut part of the factory dash bezel. I had this done already because i had the 14 entune installed prior. I would assume if you don’t cut the bezel it would not sit flush. But seeing how mine is cut it sits pretty good!

    Here’s the link. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-qJJjg7Ctuq8/p_120958235C/Metra-95-8235-Dash-Kit-Gloss-Charcoal.html

Is the 05-11 bezel different from the 12-15 bezel? I like the rounded corners of the 12-15 version and can only find the 05-11 version with square sharp corners..

i think it’s different i know you have to modify the factory surround for the bezel time fit. i came from a 14 entune radio i installed and the gray surround came with it and the previous owner cut it so it sits flush

I went with the kenwood 907s. This is probably my favorite h.u so far. I’ve installed and used pioneer and Sony in the past as well and have no complaints with either.

went with Dasaita Android HU. 9" wireless carplay a bunch of other features. Has its quirks but the screensize and flexibility has been great. Basically an android tablet with additional features.

not all Bluetooth is supported which is really annoying but phones, ODB readers work. I was hoping to connect battery monitors, switch pro etc but the bluetooth is not supported.

I use carplay via wireless on it the most. Apps like Gaia work on it along with multiple music. BT audio works with it and via carplay.

Went with a Boss BV800ACP assuming that bluetooth and CarPlay meant wireless CarPlay. Well shit. Got it for a good deal and have some time to return it. Anyone have experience running a wireless dongle or a similarly priced unit to recommend that has wireless CarPlay?

I’m not sure but I don’t think you can get CarPlay through a dongle

My new Pioneer AVH1550 NEX arrived yesterday flashed the Maestro this morning. Have a Jensen VX7024 but cracked the screen. Like the pioneer as it will use the OEM SIRIUSXM instead of the aftermarket one I had to use. Alos there are less wire and cable in the new unit. Need to paint or wrap the Bezell as I can't stand the grey color. Will have to wait a bit to install it. Need to do some honey do's before Thanksgiving.

Just got the kenwood 9707s at Best Buy during their cyber Monday sale for $399. It should include free installation but apparently there are no installers for this hu within 250 miles...weird bc every other pioneer similar hu’s all were able to have free installation added...

anyways what else do I need to get the steering wheel controls to work, and have the vehicle information loaded on the hu?
