Man it rained like a MOFO today ! Needed a deer stand break anyway . Tomorrow’s AM temp is 52 :annoyed: but falling during the afternoon . So I will be out there in the afternoon. The one stand I hunt mostly during rifle season is set up in front of a high stem count bedding / security cover . ( estimate about 3-4 acres of multi flora rose / autumn olive and a bunch of other Snarly stuff ) I’ve consistently watched the same deer all day not move more than 30 yards all day . No acorns either this year here . So the high stem count should pay off eventually. :fingerscrossed:Watched a flock of turkeys harass a couple doe that moved in on them while feeding yesterday. Hope it’s another mild winter because I don’t think there is much for food without mast .

Cole and I saw a deer yesterday, first one we’ve seen in almost 3 weeks. Yearling. It was windy and cold and it didn’t hang around long.

We went and pulled cards Sunday and saw one of the biggest coyotes I’ve ever seen. No time to whack it.

Northeast of Missoula. It was a pretty bad year for weather. It warmed up and all the roads thawed and was a muddy mess. 9 days of hard hunting.
