Just catching up. Whew, what a race. What a crash. He really was engulfed in the flames for quite some time... a true credit to all the fire safety gear they wear. Also the halo definitely saved him from being decapitated or at least having his head crushed. Very tense moment for sure. Otherwise a pretty normal race... good for Albon and RedBull I suppose.

Still feeling sorry for Perez’s engine failure and can’t believe Stroll has a seat for next year.

I personally feel Stroll was at fault when he hit Kvyat. It’s the first lap and he sweeps across 3 lanes to the apex of the corner.

My opinion may be biased because I don’t like Stroll.

 

Agreed! I want to see him in race leading car to really assess his skill. The Sky Team has been singing his praises, but he's really only been outperforming the underperforming Ferrari powered teams this season as well as a teammate that should be replaced.

 

Read somewhere Gutierrez isn't eligible because he hasn't raced in over 3 years or done a practice of over 300 km. So it's Vandoorne, Russell or Hulk...hope it's one of the latter

Then surely Bottas would win more right? Instead a Redbull is usually in second ahead of Bottas. You've got to be a hater if you think Hamilton isn't a good driver. Or just delusional.

 

I think he is a great driver, easily the best of this generation, but put him in a Williams. you think hes going to take poll every race? You would have to be delusional to think its all skill and nothing to do with the car hes in.

 

Nobody in a Williams is taking pole so what's your point? Bottas came from Williams and I thought he was going to do more. Even Nico won a championship a couple years after Lewis showed up. A better car will only enhance an already great driver.

But that doesn't mean if you put a Williams driver in a Merc that they will take pole and win every race. Bottas is proof of that. He's good but Hamilton is better.

 

obviously ham is better, bottas is still 2nd in points, which proves that even a lesser driver can get points with a superior car

 

Bottas is a #2 driver. Take a strong #1 from another team and put them in the Merc and he'd probably still be #2. Of course, I could be wrong.......
