I don't think there's anything else required. The defrost you use for your windows are likely what will be used for mirrors. Same thing for turn signals.

He's saying plug and play... even after telling him I don't think my truck came with those options.

I’m pretty sure its not. I dont think 2nd gens even had heated mirrors on any trips or packages from the factory? I think that was a new addition on the 3rd gens.

Yeah, I think things will need to be tapped for sure. I don't think he's giving me right information. Apparently its not a hard thing to do, but sounds like I would need to take the door panels off?

I’d assume so. I dont know what you’d be tapping though. I’d assume you’d have to run a new circuit and switch for them..

In the instructional video, it looks like there are wires inside the mirror housing. I definitely don't have those wires and I feel like those mirrors will still need everything else from the Highlander mirror mod just to work right.

Electrical is easy. Just time consuming to do properly..

Would dash switch really be necessary if they can just activate with climate control for defrost?

If I had instructions, I'd knock it out.

Mirror and window defrosters are typically on a timer. Mine shut off after 15 minutes or so.

I don't know what on/off relay you'd tap into. I don't know about your truck, but the only defrost I have is from the AC windshield blower. I don't have a heating element window defrost circuit to piggyback a signal from.

    So. Many. Stickers.
But with a 3rd gen, you'd get power and heated mirrors

Dude responded back saying that I would indeed need to splice into my turn signals, however, didn't say anything about the heater.

That sounds like a workable solution for the signal bulbs. However intermittent heat only when the blinkers blink sounds problematic. It sounds like he doesn't include a 2nd gen solution. Luckily, there are OEM parts available to control heated mirrors that fit into existing dash spots. Add a relay to the fuse box and run wiring FTW.
