Anyone who has ordered Kings recently, how long did it take for you to receive them? I think most people, including myself, are getting estimates of 4-10 weeks lead time. I just want to hear what the actual wait time has been for people.

I’ve read recently it took a member 2 months to receive his. So that time frame seems realistic right now

My response time was crap. I went with ADS for rears.
My long travel front build I’ll be running ADS as well.

I was torn between those and kings, but went with kings because they’re a true 2.5”, longer travel, and arb doesn’t have anyone set up to rebuild them. I’m sure both would be huge upgrades, I just didn’t want to be left wondering what if...

that being said, I think they’re really promising and have a lot of features packed in there. I’m excited to see how they do in the coming years.

Not to mention the fact that you won’t need $1,000 worth of other parts to make them function properly, like the extended Kings do.

Is the concern with the time frame when dealing direct with King? Have people tried dealers like www.accutuneoffroad.com ?

I don’t believe king deals directly to the public, only through dealers. I just started this thread to see what other people’s lead times were for their orders.

We order and stock a LARGE volume King shocks, and keep a steady flow of Tacoma/4Runner shocks coming in. Despite King being shut down for Covid-19 and catching up, they've been doing a pretty good job of sticking to their lead times. Of course I say this today.... which could change tomorrow. Current lead times we have with King is 8-10 weeks once they are ordered. Tacoma/4Runner stuff we order have been selling before they arrive.

Thats been pretty accurate for us over the last few months. Yes its a long time, but it's an honest answer.

Thank you for your response. These are bizarre times, and waiting is to be expected. Our business certainly felt the disruption both in the supply chain and demand side. We have a lot of manufacturing/industrial customers and it all trickles down.

Just to clarify- this thread isn’t meant to bash King or any vendor for things obviously out of their control. Just total curiosity of when I may expect to install these bad boys. I mean we are in a global pandemic buying high end suspension- the last thing we need to be is impatient, right?

Totally understand, just providing some info on our end since we are one of the larger buyers of King/Fox shocks. We buy direct so our lead times are a little more accurate than some of these online web stores that drop ship product.

We probably have all dealt with long leads times on a few things this year :/ Hopefully 2021 is better!

Here’s another question- I already have my rears. Any reason not to go ahead and install them?

I have a lot of stuff to do up front- ECGS, UCA, LCA, tie rods, bumps, etc. so I was thinking I’d knock out the rear bumps, kings etc. and wait to do the front once the front kings come in. Not going to lie, I was looking forward to having brand new everything all at once, but now I’m more concerned with having time to do it all in a day.

Any reason not to temporarily pair my 5100/886 fronts with king rears until my front kings come in? I’m sure it won’t damage anything, but just want to cover my bases...

Ordered a rear set of 2.5" for mine on September 9th... they were scheduled to ship the 3rd week in November and was moved back to November 24th. Still haven't heard anything from the 3rd party dealer. The wait is killing me. Also does anyone know if the extra adjustment valve is worth it or not? I went ahead and got the option because I was already spending that much $

If I had to do it again I would get longer rears with adjusters and do a relocate. I would also get them tuned from the get go... I think the 700lb coils and lack of tuning are keeping me from fully enjoying the subtle differences the front adjusters offer right now, so I’m anxious to see a difference when some more weight gets added. I keep mine on the softest setting, but crank up the rear when I haul something heavy. Seems much more planted when I do. Less body roll and bounce when they’re all set to firm. I don’t regret adding them.

Unfortunately right now I don't have enough time for off-roading to where I would see the difference in the long travel + the relocation. I just do mild off-roading in the mountains about once a month. However I do have a landscaping business so hauling a trailer/mulch is something I do often. I also got tired of my 5100's riding like a lumber wagon lol

I know the question was about Kings.

But, for the record. My Fox took 22 weeks.

I would definitely look at new bump stops if you haven’t already. I went with wheelers super bumps and it’s night and day when you’re riding close to them.
