Yea four 500s will be tight but might be manageable if you stagger them a bit.

I dont know if theres actually a noticeable difference, but the 500 is more of a fog patter where the FF is more of a driving beam.
I have HID headlights, HID foglights, and HID hella 700FFs, and you can notice a difference if you turn any of them off. I'll have to try to get some pics, but basically the fog lights give off some nice low and wide light, the head lights give a pretty good general light- HI or LO beam, and the hella 700FFs give a great pencil beam right up the middle between the headlights. All these pieces come together to create DAYTIME at NIGHT! haha

    Hey Klipp,

How do the hellas work in terms of when they light up? By this I mean do they turn on with the high beams and off with the lows, or are they on and off only with the switch?
    Thanks

I want to ask, the bulb type is H1? Since i have some extra HID kicking around, if it is H1 it will be nice.

    Hey Kilpp,

Two questions, what is the distance between the holes you drilled to mount the lights? I just got my DDM HID kit and Hella lights and am going to copy your setup:)
Also, did you have to aim your fog lights lower once you switched to HID? I seem to be getting flashed a lot more now that there are HIDs in my fog lights. If may be due to the fact that I have a 3 inch lift and put sand bags in the back which would change the angle slightly. Thanks!

I'll get back to you on that measurement. If you're talking about adjusting the hella's, you can pivot them up or down to point wherever you want.

Hey Klipp can you confirm the Hella 500 is actually an H4? Most of the kits I have been looking at for them are advertising H3.

Also, just curious why did you go with the Hi/Lo kit from DDM? Isn't there just one mode with these guys? On or off?

I'm planning to order everything soon and want to make sure I get it right the first time. I am planning to do the Hella 500 Black Magic and convert them to HID using the DDM H3 5000k kit.

Anyone see any problems with this? I am assuming the Black Magic 500's will be the same to convert as the regular 500's?

    Thanks.

I appreciate the measurements! That will make things a lot easier. I was talking about the fog lights. It seems like I get flashed a lot with the fog lights on. Thanks!
