Ram Tough Track for mounting on the dash of '19 Tacoma

I ordered this product and I think it's going to work great... as long as I can attach it to the truck somehow. I tried velcro, double sided adhesive, and basically everything short of drilling. I don't think I'll mind drilling. I just don't know how to get to the underside of the top dash to securely fasten the mount. To be clear I am not mounting it on the top of the radio bezel (it doesn't fit and isn't perfectly flat) but further up the dash on the hard textured plastic. Does anybody know how to get to the underside without ripping apart the truck? Or any other better ideas?

yes; last thing i'd want to do is drill into an airbag or something similarly volatile & expensive to replace.

Gents, thanks for the heads up. I was curious enough to pull off the radio bezel. I found that if you remove the bezel and the radio you have quite good access to the upper dash board. Or at least good enough to get bolts and nuts in for the mount. So having already bought the Ram System. That’s what I went with. I’m sure that other system works great. Pictures to illustrate.

OP, how has this held up without supports below the dash? I was thinking about doing something similar.

 

OP hasn’t been here since March 30, 2019. There’s better options than drilling holes in the top of your dash. There’s a link in the second post that’s a much better option.

 

All the dash multi-mounts require drilling or cutting or some sort. The bezel the goes around the head unit that the DMM or the EO TPAM requires you to drill and notch is only $150 cheaper to replace than the dashboard. Drilling or cutting a $250 part vs $400 part is not much a difference if somebody is getting a system that they want or need. I am considering a Ram rail across the dash from the gauge cluster bulge to in front of the passenger for more flexibility of mounting. The other option is similar to the new Bronco dash rail system that would be 4-6 rev-nuts into the dash to mount to span the same area. There are folks that modify much more expensive parts than the dash for much less functional reasons.
