Well shit, I stand corrected good sir. Glad that was all the damage it took.
I'll echo getting it checked out and re-balanced ASAP.

Your eyes don't deceive you, the wheel is two tone. Here's one in silver that shows the color separation.

Don’t let the “not DOT approved” status trick you into thinking beadlocks are less safe or just for slow crawlers. Both times I have been involved in roll overs was because the tire peeled off the wheel going sideways and then the metal wheel dug and catapulted the vehicles causing them to barrel roll. I wouldn’t be surprised if some highway roll overs were made worse by the tire coming off the bead.
Real bead-locks are heavy and need much more care for the bolt rings maintenance but they can also save you tire shop money for mounting new tires. Still need to balance but that’s like 30 bucks vs 100+ bucks for mounting plus driving and scheduling appointments at the tire shop.
Just saying all that headache for beadlocks isn’t just for jeep mall crawler points. Safer and less dependent on tire shops.

And obviously you can run stupidly low psi which is a night and day difference off road in sand and mud and rocks and comfort and ....

Your first post was misleading, so I’d ignore the wheel reply’s, that’s the least of your worries at the moment. A hit from another vehicle directly onto your wheel. You need to be worried about your axle and it’s alignment. Then once that checks out, worry about the cosmetic shit on the wheel.

you can bend axle, bend springs, bend mounting, break location pins. Tones of ways your rear axle is no longer tracking straight with the frame from a decent hit on the rear wheel. A tap that scratches the wheel, nothing really to worry about, but you said it was a decent hit.

Very careful visual would be first check, your looking for signs of stress on any of the “weak links”. then alignment shop. But not your typical alignment tire-rack style place, either one that can do true 4 wheel alignment (very few exist) or one that’s associated with body/ frame shop.

Just measure the center of the front drivers wheel with the center rear drivers side. Do the same with the passenger side and these two distances should be the same if your all level and straight.

Doesn't look good, the leaf spring hangers are pretty easy to bend. I would definitely let your insurance know so you can have a professional take a look at it.

The fist and only thing you should do is take it to an alignment shop and have it checked. That is the only way to identify if anything is bent. As long as you don't need any body work, they can work with your insurance company. If you have body damage, take it to a body shop. They will handle will check the alignment as part of the body repair.

Wheel should be fine. Suppose you could get another wheel if the cosmetics bother you and save this one as a spare. The rest....well get a shop to check out the suspension. Seems something got bent.

All my rims are scraped like this from trail damage. If your rims are alloys like mine, you'll be fine. IT'S JUST A FLESH WOUND.

No kidding. It is kind of like telling someone with a bullet hole they can put a Band-Aid on it and be done.

To be fair, the OP could have made the 1st post much more clear to reflect that this wheel was damaged by someone ramming it with their car.
