The video posted above somewhere is a good angle, you can see his right arm and shoulder come outside of the halo to pull himself out whilst doing a corkscrew type action. I’m sure the adrenaline rush at that point was crazy.

Yeh more of the cockpit ended up on the opposite side and since the halo stayed intact he had enough space to exit. Any less he couldn't get out.

the real tricky part this weekend is the track itself. i wouldn't be surprised if the typical qualifying order is a mess. everyone will be trying for running position and it just doesn't always work out. lap times under 60 seconds.

He has the skill and just needs a decent car to show it. This is his opportunity of a lifetime.

Max won in the Redbull after being called up. I'd say Russell has a fighting chance especially being behind the most reliable/stable car on the field.
