I assume you’re asking about the Lomax. When folded there are two shock cords at the front that secure into raised lips on the front panel (near truck rear window). They secure well though I recommend over time inspecting the cords. Additionally there are two safety straps under the front panel that are backups to the shock cords, it’s going nowhere even if both shock cords were to fail.

Yeah, I don’t know why I put a question mark after the comment about the OEM cover

Awesome, thanks for posting the pics and answering my question. Looks like I found my tonneau cover

Installed mine recently. Purchased from Luke from truck alterations.
I think it completes the look of the truck and adds a bit of security for the bed.
The only noticeable leaking area is the front close to the cab - will likely add some more weather stripping there.

Hello all. New member here. it seems from reading thru this forum that most of you have opted for the matte black finish on the Lomax hard cover vs. the urethane. I know the urethane is supposedly more “glossy” and scratch resistant but if that’s true, why does it seem that most of you have opted for the matte finish ? Is it simply aesthetics? I’m leaning toward the urethane but don’t have the opportunity to see either of them other than in website photos. Sounds as though most of you are pleased overall with the cover. Thanks for any input ( or photos ) and looking forward to participating in other discussions.

Welcome aboard! Hopefully some with the urethane black covers will show you a few pictures. I’m an outlier and have a Lomax Professional with diamond plate, absolutely no regrets it’s sturdy and doesn’t show dirt, looks brand new even without washing for a couple months. Had I not chose that I would have went with the urethan since I suspect it’s less likely to show smears dirt etc.

Mine is urethane. I am somewhat curious to see it side by side with matte. Not sure it was a clear decision at the time. It might be cool if they could sent put 2x2 samples of each finish on a piece of plastic or something.

I would say its mostly a looks factor... Price difference is small. Urethane has a glossier look and more texture for sure. Upside to urethane is that it is likely more scratch and dent resistant so it really depends on how you use the cover and the look you prefer.

daveeasa , the photo you posted doesn not appear glossy at all. Is that just the camera angle or something ??? Or has the gloss worn off like a typical bedliner would ? How long have you had your cover ?

Some quick searching reveals I installed this in June 2020. I am in NC San Diego and we do get sunshine and my driveway is south-facing and at an incline so it's safe to say I'm on the high side of the sun baking scale. I have a rather poor memory as well so I don't remember how glossy it might have been originally. It's definitely not shiny now, though when wet it does look different.

    Somewhere hot, flat and brown.
Another happy @GotExhaust customer. No pics, but make post #593 above Army Green and that's me. Good Tonneau, good price, easy install even for an idiot like me.

Wish I never skimped on cost and git one of these instead of the cheaper one I did.
