I traded in a plug in hybrid that I willing fully bought and kind of liked for a Tacoma.

I’m not trading my Tacoma for an electric truck

I just bought a new Tacoma and it checks all my boxes for utility and value (as well as looks and comfort).

However, a friend of mine will be taking delivery of a Rivian in the spring, so I will be very interested to see how he likes it. From researching, it looks like a very well thought out vehicle. If it delivers as promised, I may look to upgrade to it in the future. But I will likely wait until the prices come down considerably (3-5 years?) and it proves itself in the real world. Plus it would be hard to separate me from my Taco right now....

This looks like someone fitted a RAV4 grille on to their Silverado 2500HD.

I was gonna say, delivery isn't until July 2021. Unless it's a tester.

It is more of any issue of precious metals going into the batteries. One reason Toyota has not gone full EV is because they realize they can stretch batteries further in hybrids. They have gone on the record saying that. Eventually they will have to cave and go to a full EV, but that is there reasoning for now.

Tesla is doing their part and bringing down costs, but they still remain incredibly expensive.

Someone already posted this in response, watch the battery day presentation. They are addressing this issue with recycling and developing batteries with new processes to construct them and how they are constructed that won’t limit their production. They have a pretty impressive plan to make their own batteries without limitations on production.

Yup - that is an ugly truck. Not sure why the industry is obsessed with vents, and making grills even bigger. It seems like a move in design obsolescence to make people *want* to trade their vehicles in because they look *dated*

Lol, pretty sure the 18+ leather is plastic or whatever they call it, so I technically didn't murder any animals...

Rivian is ugly as shit. The Nikola Badger is hands down the best looking.

Regardless how ugly most of these EV trucks are nothing is uglier than the price.

If that vent was functional for accessing the battery or something I could get on board, but if it's only for style. No thanks.

best case I can think of is to justify by saying "more air for better cooling" but doubt it is channeled into the radiator....

Ended up moving to Colorado. Still have my 19 Pro and bought a 1970 Chevy C10 so I guess you could say I went in the wrong direction. LOL
