Anyone here have experience with the 4runner tunepack?

 

No, since it isn't available yet to my knowledge. 4runner ECUs haven't been added into vF yet either, not for the public.

There's a couple OVT 4Runner threads in the 4runner forums that I've been loosely watching in case any new updates come out. One guy said a couple years ago, or maybe last year, idk, that he was on a 1.02 early tune from Mat and that accelerating a decent pace was possible with the Eco light still on lol

 

That's what I thought, but Mat is selling it on his website. So now I'm confused.

 

That's a new development. Maybe it's in preparation for the support. After all, he had said the next vF update would include 2019 and earlier 4R support

 

4Runner support is available now on the latest update, download it

 

While we are working on updates and getting back to people we want everyone to know that there are several people now offering reflashing in person.

A lot of these people are providing unauthorized flashing services (they don't have vF tuner / didn't purchase the proper software to do so).
We will be making some software changes to address this soon.

We will not provide any support for people who purchase flashes from these people.


How do you know if the person is authorized?
1. They have vF Tuner
2. They have your ECU version unlocked and accessible
3. they are providing A VFT VERSION File / Tune.

it is your money, make sure you are buying from a trusted source.


Anyone offering reflashing services providing a P5F file from our flash manager, are selling unauthorized flashes.

 

I just tried loading a tune into my truck and have a problem. I know it has maybe been covered on the previous 3477 pages of this thread but I’ll get an migraine trying to read all of that.

I tried loading it a couple of days ago. Right at the end it said flash unsuccessful due to data corruption and not the truck only cranks, no start.

Now when I click on “identity” on the flash tool it is also unsuccessful.

Truck is dead. Is this fixable or am I looking at a new ECU?

 

100% fixable.

make sure you are using vF Flash tool / Toyota Flash Tool 1.3.2 if flashing a VFT version file

or 1.2.1+ if P5F


follow these steps:
do not click identify
turn truck on, select "flash it"
select tune file
let it flash.

 

I have done exactly that several times. No luck.

 

What file are you flashing, and what version is your flasher.

 

So us people with vf tuner and our own vft files can still flash other trucks?

 

As long as you have proper access to the vft files, yes sir.

But lets say you have VFT tuner, and unlocked ECU access for "04A60"

You can't go around flashing 04B03 P5F files....

 

The flash tool is 1.3.1 and I was trying to install tune 04B04_Reg_Stock_33_5.29.vft

 

1.3.1 is the version the comes with flash manager and is not compatible with vft files

You need version 1.3.2 (which comes with vf tuner) to flash vft files.

 

Ok. Well that’s what was downloaded and installed when following the directions.
