So, bit of a fun one. Now that I make dice as my primary source of income, I'm in an online group with a bunch of makers. One of our higher-end participants wanted to pass a commission request to someone who would be willing to make a specific set of dice - spaghettio dice. Everyone said no; I said yes, but I've only been making dice for 2 months, and I'm assuming this person was hesitant to refer the customer to a newer dice maker, in case they weren't good quality.

In the end, I ended up getting in contact with the customer, and they were overjoyed with what I made, offered me extra money, and informed me that they had been contacting dice makers since November 2019 to get these done. I think that's crazy; I had a lot of fun with the request personally.

All I need to do now is give them a polish and ink the numbers with whatever color they choose

Well done! My first thought was how did you get the spaghetti O's to set like that. Very convincing color and texture of the O's

Trade Secret ;) I'll let her spill the beans if she wants to, but so many other dice makers thought this was an impossible task and turned down a commission until she caught wind of it. She's always up for a creative challenge. And the results are in the sauce. :rimshot:

Thanks guys! I mixed up some polymer clay colors to make a noodle color. They require so many more than you'd think; took all day to make the inclusions

    Here’s the first go.

The “A.S.” is just something I’m thinking about trying. I like it in that it’s elegant and not overly in your face. Making the letters look good as cut outs took a little thinking.

For size comparison. I was gonna start with 2 5 pounders or a 10, but the old lady stole them. Lol

as you guys know you’ll never put 15lbs of wood and sticks or coal in this thing. Also size comparison next to bumpers.

    97F510AF-0881-41C1-9184-D8FBB5A089A7.jpg

Now has the side useable as handles, and bolt holes through every piece to hold it all tightly together. Also changed top to not just be long slits and more supportive.

    It's a slip together design

Nice, I'd like to see how it works out for you. Just a thought... do you think it will/has enough air flow in the bottom? Guess you won't know until you try but just at a glance I would want more holes not just at the bottom but maybe a few mid way up. As we know wood and coals need plenty of air and flow. Looks great! Awesome concept, let me know if you make one to many or a blemish

This first one will be the one with blemishes. I noticed a few nodes hidden in the file when watching the torch fire. Also, me not paying attention uploaded the old sides to the machine and not the new one with handles.

Just curious what do you think something like this would sell for

I couldn't even give a guess really. I know good metal isn't cheap and the cutting machine definitely isn't cheap but it looks like a nice little grill and since you can take it apart/folds flat is amazing id definitely be interested

Reminds me of this old school Coleman oven that we use alot that folds up close to flat... works amazing on propane, never tried on coals before

Some people charge 2.1 to 2.5 x material cost. Some times its not worth the expense with materials just have to decide how much $$ you want to try and make off one.

Made some cutting boards from some leftover 1.5" thick butcher block countertop material. Managed to squeeze out 7 12"x16" and 2 12"x12". Four coats of food grade mineral oil.
