Back on track. OP, did you get insurance involved in this or a police report? If the suspension, drive line, or frame is damaged it will be important to have both of those to have the issue resolved.

Yes, I did read the whole post. I'm just stating that cosmetic blemishes shouldn't be of concern. Inspect for further damage and check alignment and call it a day!

Yeah, there's a few guys that run them without the ring. I agree, they look good, especially if you're sticking with 16's. I'd just be sure to find a solution to plug the bolt holes, to keep them clean. Maybe set screws...

I take back my initial post which was based on the isolated picture of the scuffed wheel/tire.

You need to make sure the real axle, leafs, hangers, etc weren't damaged. The wheel is the least of your concerns. Insurance and a qualified shop are the way to go.

That is fairly common, my 1st gen has always been like that. I guarantee you if most people were to measure their wheels like this, they would be slightly off side to side as well. Doesn't necessarily mean your rear axle is out of square/alignment.

I wouldn't go off that as a means of determining if there were damage. Find a spot on the frame of the truck (the same spot on both sides) that's in front of the rear axle and measure the distance from the axle on both sides to that point. That will tell you if it's straight or not.

Or better yet, go to a good alignment shop and they can give you a printout with numbers.

Does it drive straight? If the rear axle were off you would know, it would track like it was dog-walking and pull while driving.

Thanks so much bro , I was just thinking that my driver side rear panel was changed 2 years ago when someone hit me there . Since is a different one that could be it . Maybe now is when I noticed it you know . But it drives great I got it all the way to 100 miles and it feels the same .

Measure center of front wheel to center of back wheel both sides . That number should be the same .

    No kidding...

Dont let that worry you too much. These trucks (and really all trucks) are known to have visual misalignments between body and wheels. Especially on the rear.

I would take it in to get the alignment checked. All the shops Ive ever been will give you a read-out on the rear axle even though there isnt any rear adjustment. A few tenths of a degree isnt a big deal. More than that might indicate an issue. Another big indicator would be the steering wheel. If you have to hold the wheel "not straight" to go straight down the road after this happened, then something is tweaked

Personally Im betting its ok, but more info on the crash wouldnt hurt...
