Can you flash a p5f to a ECU without having to unlock anything? Credits are only if you want to edit a vft file correct? The actual act of flashing the p5f isn't restricted in any way?

Do we know what the specific failure was? I saw that his truck no longer started but what was the exact reason for it to error like that?

It sounded like a flash failure, which happens very rarely. I've had flash failures where it stops immediately with no effect on the Taco. This one sounded like it kicked out mid flash?

    @OVTune

What other perks does the Pro upgrade come with? For example, I have many ECUs unlocked and will need to unlock more in the near future. I'm regularly using the edit feature across many ECUs and will be moving into the 4runners too, etc.

So for example, does the Pro upgrade come with all ECUs unlocked? And/or includes all tune packs? What separates it from the regular vF and makes it more valuable and enticing to people besides additional tables and more direct, dedicated support from OVT (you)?

Do you have a list of authorized flash providers anywhere that you could share? I'm a little confused about what it means to be authorized though. My understanding is you pay $75, you unlock the ECU, you flash that ECU code as many times as you want in as many vehicles as you want. Is that model now changing?

It does not come with access to all ECUs. However since some Pro users are wanting this, we will be offering a Master tune pack which will come with tunes for all ECUs.

    it comes with:
    1. Unique ID for ECUs
    2. Access to ECU patches and custom coded files. (for example on the tacoma, you get access to our AFR patch which makes tuning AFR really, ....really easy)
    3. You get access to all future patches that will not be available to public. (some of these patches are designed for specific use, like for superchargers, etc)
    4. Ability to lock tunes (but this is also a feature now in non - pro)
    5. individual assistance from me + my cell for any time assistance.
    6. additional tables
    7. beta access for stuff not released yet.

Yup. Exactly this. It’s a little bit confusing in a way with the different sets of instructions I found on the site. Definitely stressful though.

We don't have one yet but we are working on that.

You pay $75 and you can unlock the stock ECU and make your own tune from it and flash as many times as you want. But paying $75 doesn't give the privilege to flash tune files we made in P5F format.

Basically what has happened is there are some folks who seemed to have downloaded "all" files possible from Flash manager and are just distributing/flashing them as they please.

The model is changing completely to get rid of all forms of confusion. Very very simple format. VIN based.

no need to rush into it. Price won't be changing and I highly recommend wait until our next update releases.

Are you meaning a new Pro version update? Or an update to the new tuning model you've been referring to being implemented across the board?

Too bad it wasn't like that from the beginning I think it would have solved the issue of a lot of guys who were praying on unsuspecting individuals by charging $200+ to flash them with a base tune.

Do you have a list of authorized vendors/flash providers?

it's mostly for shops and other tuners who don't need help with obvious stuff.
also doesn't come with individual assistance for obvious stuff like "what is AFR?" lol

both. new version of software + new flasher + adjusted model.

Except that per Mat, the 2.0 is not just a base tune, it is 2.0 final. Everything else to come like gearlock is just extras.
