With this lift setup, knowing which model you bought is the least of your worries. Not sure the point of this thread is if you bought a truck that's not in stock form, which in your case, will be difficult to revert back to.

    Like, so many.
If the wheels are stock, then I think that's a TRD Sport.

he can confirm by laying under the back of the truck and looking at the diff for the LSD sticker

or remembering when he changed the rear diff fluid if it was LSD and needed additive. Which = TRD sport

I honestly don’t know, I never even seen one.
    I’m just quoting the article.
I don’t put much faith in an “media article” anymore.
I’d trust your word over theirs. It could in fact be “Dealer installed”

Just look at the SSC and “world record”
Not even the “media” took time to verify any of the claims.
Turns out, it wasn’t possible to achieve the speeds they claimed in the distance they said they did it in.
All the media hype and press articles, none of it close to accurate.

I think it was an option. Maybe it had to be a requested SR5 package :notsure:

Rear diff has the LSD sticker. Just did fluid changes on entire truck. Valvoline 75w90 w/LSD in both diffs and Xfer case.
The truck does have SR5 emblems on the tailgate.

Who’s ready to fire up this trusty thread again? Currently looking at a 2015 “TRD Pro” at a dealership. Only issues is the emblems are chrome and it has TRD sport stickers. My current truck is a 2011 TRD TX Prerunner with lockers if y’all wanna dive deep.
I’m not lying when I tell you I had a dealership buddy run the vin on the one I’m looking at and it comes up as a pro. No lockers either.
If anyone cares to explain I’m all ears, Toyotas packages are more than confusing. Need to be a rocket scientist to understand it.

Edited to add the Carfax: I’m no longer interested at all. I’m no expert, but is this not a pretty clear indicator of a rollback? Can follow the carfax and miles go up as the one owner used it. Then all the sudden it’s in Florida with 43k miles. How the hell does that happen?

I heard about this tip regarding the power outlet early on in my search for a Tacoma. I wasn't looking for a TRD but it was surprising when I came across a few TRD "replicas" during the search when I checked the beds of trucks with TRD the decals: and no power outlet.

Shows as a TRD Sport for me, 17" rims, painted accents w/hood scoop. No mention of locker or suspension. We never had a Pro in Canada so I might be restrained in that regard, but it shows as a plain white sport to me.

Not a roll back but likely a clerical error unless its advertised as 43k from the dealer.

    https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Use...Birmingham-c24599_L120#listing=345248878/NONE

It's a sport, I'd avoid it based on the mileage error, unless its priced properly.

Yea looks like a TRD Sport with a lift and TRD wheels.
It seems many dealers call any TRD truck a TRD Pro, I guess either they don't know the difference or they think they are gona try to get more money for it.

Toyota changed their VIN lookup on the owners website, it now only shows the base specs. It used to show everything the truck originally came with.

I think the florid motor vehicle department forgot a 2.
Seriously though, it happens a lot. Typos.

Unless you have pictures of the dash showing 43k?

Someone also could have stuck a new or different cluster in it and not programmed the mileage, if that's the case the mileage should be marked as not actual on the title.

I believe the mileage is stored on a PROM chip in the cluster as you said.
I haven’t seen anyone advertise a way to program one to a different mileage.
But I think there a a guy that can solder your old PROM on the new board.
