There's no new features with these updates, it's basically a software patch. If you're concerned, just hold off. If issues arise in the future, then you can throw the update on.

Going from *0158 to *0164 appears the display is a bit crispier (did they update the font?), and the overall UI response is even faster ..

Updated from 01019D to 0101A5 on the drive home Monday. Update was a piece of cake.

My HU has been a little flaky the last few weeks - my time has displayed as --:-- a few mornings when I start it and it forgets that the audio source is my USB drive and I have to reselect it. I'm not sure if any of that has been fixed in this update but I hope so.

Awesome! I updated the USB stick I've used for radio updates in the past with the new files. I've been getting occasional reboots that seem to be related to phone calls.

Thanks again for doing this. I finally remembered to hunt down my USB drive and flash the update. Worked perfectly.

If you're ever up in this corner, I owe you beers.

Another thanks from me as well. I have basically the same truck as @tonered, and my update also worked perfectly. It's always great to have a heads-up about available updates.

Success! Thanks for going through the effort to share these files and write instructions even after you found out there weren't any updates for your radio.

Thanks OP! Unfortunately this didn't unfuck some of my issues with Youtube Music but so far it seems to have gotten rid of the weird issue where I'd make some quick stops and the music sounds like a slowed down record. We shall see as it's somewhat random.

As a previous user of google play music that was forced to move to YouTube music, I can say that is YTM that is the issue. I hate this new app.

Im right there with ya buddy. I didn't think it could get much worse than google play music but then the same developers made YTM and sweet 8 pound, 4 ounce baby Jesus H. Christ on a bike they set a new low. I hope one of those fuckers has a tacoma and sees this. Oddly enough however the slow record thing is with YTM, Google play music, and Google podcasts so far.

That's wild. I wonder if it is a 2019 / 2020 issue? YTM has worked flawlessly for me for over 2yrs now. Amazon Music was a bit of a mess beyond the small selection at the time.

I rarely ever had issues with GPM. When I had to move to YTM I started to see that there were clearly two separate teams working on those projects. I can't even listen to playlists on an infinite shuffle like GPM did.:angrygirl:

    Weird!

Mixed playlists are about all that I listen to. The mix and functionality seems to be the same as the PC version.

If I had a complaint, it would be similar to Pandora where it doesn't dive deep into my oldest Likes. It tends to replay my more current favs. It does help intro new music, but those deep dives are damn cool when they come up.

Electric Wizard, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dope Lemon, and 10,000 Mods have been great additions. I just like when they get stirred into Tone Loc, Zeppelin, and AC/DC. LoL!

Worked for me but as you can see i have done this a few time in the last 4 years.

I used a 1GB flash drive/ put the truck in neutral with the engine off if you want... turn on ACC mode and you have 20 min before it will turn off (took under 10 to do )

My opinion is just do it. you need 0101A0 for Alexa app to install

    Thanks OP
