if you get an aftermarket skid, the "door" they build into them is completely useless...I end up having to drop my IFS skid every time I change the oil, otherwise it gets everywhere on the bottom of the skid and makes a huge mess.

Nah man he built them normal sized. These new pop up developers vision of a 2 car garage being a 20×22 or around that is laughable. I mean when the new civics are as bug as the 90s camry and accords you need to stop and think. That and most American households have a larger SUV or truck these days. To me the std garage is more of a glorified storage shed attached to the house.

So true. My 92 built suburban tract home I just sold barely fit my 1gen tacoma in it and our 2015 camry was even a tight fit in the 2 car garage. I have no idea how a full size anything would have got in there.

THIS will be why I likely build my own rather than buy a cookie cutter. Plus, I want a decent sized house and land. Haven’t won the powerball or robbed a bank, so buy land and build is my best bet.

I'm just hoping to get my family land in NH and either flip it or move up there into the woods.

If they sold that as a 2 car they are thinking 1980 Honda civic

If you weren't using primer id laugh at you. Too bad the good oil based stuff is like finding gold these days.

I think the larger garage may be a function of the larger house, kinda go hand in hand. @SearArtist your garage is decent size, if I recall you were able to fit your truck in even with the massive pile of new, uninstalled parts and gear in the corner.

I would say so. We did look at some big ass houses recently with tiny garages though, big wtf moments there. Ours now is only a 2 car, but tons of room in there for wrenching and tools.

Big house doesn't equal big garage. Getting outside of a pop up development or set plans neighborhood is when you get the larger garages typically. Custom house larger garage is closer. Also yr, and style of neighborhood especially for the older ones plays a big part.

Mine is 2+1 attached I guess. The single is a gym though. It’s nice because the water heater keeps it warm. Going to have to put a minisplit in there come Summer though.
