Is anybody running e rated ridge grapplers on their taco. I am currently using 6 ply duratracs and need new tires. I am worried e will be too stiff after running e rated ko2s. However I can only get either e rated 10 ply or sl 4 ply. I think the 4 ply won’t be tough enough considering I off-road often. Any thoughts?

Eh, idk really depends what you want. I did some really hard wheeling this summer in my stock xterra and never had issues with sidewall slashing. Hankook dynapros 265/70/16. I would do a 4 ply because I have more issues with floatation in mud and sand.

I have found very little difference between C and E load tires. Currently on Duratrac 265/75R16 E Load and I’m very satisfied. They provide confidence off road, air down well, and not too noisy on road. I haven’t really seen a big difference in fuel mileage either. I’d say go for the E Load.

I've had the Nitto Ridge Grappler 285x75x17 E rated on my Tacoma and they weren't rough IMO. I had my dad ride with me and he was surprised it drove like stock. I'm not sure but it could be the suspension setup. Overall I liked them.

Welp, went with another set of duratracs. I was excited to try the Nitto but couldn’t justify the cons. The duratracs weigh in around 45 pounds while the Grapplers are at 57. My mpg, acceleration and ride would suffer. When you drive 25,000 miles a year the difference in savings between averaging 14 mpg and 19 mpg is significant. I wish more load options were available for 16 inch rims. Load range C and D seem ideal. E and F are definitely more suited for full size and HD trucks. Living in the Rocky Mountains I also needed a suitable tire for winter. The severe snow service rating on the duratracs live up to the hype. Just drove 500 miles through a snow storm and was very pleased. They also do well in deeper snow. I’ll have to find some 17 inch rims when I upgrade to 33s. So many more options.

Only E rated tires I’ve tried are the Ko2s. Definitely too stiff

Yea I had e rated ko2s as well. I know it’s a truck but I expect a reasonable amount of comfort especially considering I’m running bilstein 6112 and 5160s.
