vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

Anyone have issues flashing files recently? I've had increasing failed flashes. Today I had it fail 15 times before it finally took. No real pattern or fix that I've found yet.

 

Ive only had a couple failed flashes in 3 years of tuning

So what’s ECT do on this tune? It doesn’t seem to downshift at all with ECT in D and then in S it does still downshift. Very confusing. Also have a speed limit at 85 with 5.29’s

 

Not sure what you did to tweak your ECT, but the speed limit is addressed in one of the links in my signature. There's a spreadsheet that directs you on what to update if running 5.29's. If I was by my computer I could help more.

 

You mean updates other than the diff gear 1 and 2 tabs?

 

No, vehicle maximum speed I think is what it's called. Needs to be updated to "225" if running 5.29's. Although, I'm on stock gears and I put in 225 for my tune as well.

 

Found it, thanks! On the ECT, I am running @Diesel475 's tune, which I thought was modeled after the M + W performance + gearlock tune, but it's weird in ECT. All I changed on it was the 5.29 ratios, tire radius size, and some AGM alternator adjustments.

 

These GL tunes don’t have a usable D+ECT the way they are written. S+ECT is where GL works.

So I've done a search and can't seem to find an exact answer.

I purchased credits a few days ago.
Then requested the credits in VFTuner.

Am I supposed to send an email to Matt? I don't want to flood his inbox with more nonsense if I don't need to. I assume Matt can tell which account based on the one registered with VF and the website since they match.

The only thing I found while searching for an answer was @Shellshock mentioning they "appeared like magic," after they showed up in the program. lol. Besides that, I don't mind waiting for him to catch up, I've seen he mentioned he got 3x the number of emails this month. I don't know how he does it...

We want to let everyone know we will suspend shipping after December 15th, for the holidays. Our cable supplier is also going to be closed for the last 3 weeks of the year.
Shipping will resume in January. (for any vF Tuner kits ordered after December 15th)

 

I've ordered some too and haven't seen them show up. I think he is just slammed with new orders.

I had a fail when flashing vFT a while back - found out I was using the 3.0 usb hub and not the 2.0. Sounds crazy that something so seemingly insignificant could be the root cause. But it was. ?? either way I hope you got it taken care of. GL.
