I'm sure most of you guy's know about this since most forum members are tech savvy but this is newish to me. Since travel isn't really going to happen anytime soon I thought about ways to get cashback on stuff I buy online and stash away for a trip in the future. It turned into this weird little covid hobby. I have been using Rakuten and it has rocked. Best of the holiday I got 10% back on my GF's Christmas gift even with it on sale. I know a lot of people are using Dometic stuff more and more. Backcounty.com sells them and with Rakuten you'd get $80 back if it's not on sale. Here is a link for $40 back.

On a truck related note I added a Gobi product to my FJ and holy cow it took 5 months to come in. I would say the quality is good but I'm not sure I would recommend them unless you have your heart set on it. Baja Rack has pretty much the same stuff and a short lead time.

My 3rd gen neighbor moved out... and then a day later another neighbor buys a '21 Red TRD OR. Went and had a chat with them tonight while I was... walking my cat.

Meanwhile, I think my transmission is a victim of the "light on fluid" debacle. Second day in a row after commuting all the way home, reverse clunks into gear and then any shifts after that result in some alarming crunching noises. Yesterday I drove it to a mechanic friend down the street. He scanned it and didn't find anything. cleared the codes and the truck drove great until I got home again today, only to have a repeat of the situation. Parked it for a bit then turned it on a few hours later and everything seemed fine, drives and shifts normal. Lights still on on the dash.

You've done some fairly recent suspension work...have you done a visual inspection, nut and bolt check, and re-torqued the u-bolt flip while the truck is on the ground?

And I'll just let the "walking your cat" thing slide...others might not

ETA: I’ve never seen a transmission low on fluid have crunching noises unless it was blown up (those don’t self repair after sitting)...usually it’s slipping and long gear transitions with a RPM spike between the gears.

I'm a lucky guy, he's a super chill cat. Most of the neighbors know him because he visits them in their driveways. He's not afraid of dogs, and walks around like he owns everything. Ill take him for walks around the block and when people see it they're either wondering "What the hell?" Or say "Hey, I know that cat. You're his owner? He's awesome."

He lost a collar once, then a week later, returned to my house wearing the collar.

Hey people, anyone good at installing roof racks? I have the uptop overland roof rack and was hoping someone could install it for me. Don’t trust myself installing and cutting the rubber pieces out of the trim. Willing to pay.

@OmegaMan73 and I have done a couple @upTOPoverland Bravo racks...better to get a 19mm punch than to cut the trim.

I have the same rack on order. There is a video online on how to install it. Looks straight forward but I would recommend two people to get it on the roof.
