Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

wow, almost 80 posts to read (scan) through this afternoon.

My 2¢ is that I don't think I'm ever gonna love this truck enough to keep tossing more money at it. Just keep it running until someone makes a truck that works for me. Not gonna hold my breath tho

 

The latest 2.0 is pretty good. Cruise control and highway are painful. Lotsa gear changes. Other than that pretty dang good. 22mpgs on a 600 mile round tri

 

Is 2.0 perf ever coming?

19770 is holding me over in the meantime, it's great but it would be awesome to get ECT back and see what it would perform like.

Perhaps a Christmas present @OVTune

 

yeah, its "pretty good" compared to stock. The overall engine package, transmission gear ratios and rear end ratios just don't work well in this truck, and these can't be solved with a tune.

this is the 5th toyota I've owned and the only one I disliked more was my 3.0 liter auto 4 runner, sold it after 4 months.

 

I'm still an old dongle user and happy with the tune I've been running for 25000 miles or so now.

Is it worth me doing the trade in for 2.0?

Does anyone who was an "ODU" regret trading in their dongle for VF tuner?

What tune/s have you tried?

 

Try the premium mild and wild 3.1. I went back to 19770 after the 2.0 final with stumble start issues and then tried the M&W 3.1 to hold me over until the 2.0 final with map switching is released. I think it was time and money well spent since most people will want to make tweaks to the 2.0 final any way given all the personal preferences amongst the users.

 

There is a 2.0 base file without map switching that is newer than the 19800 2.0 beta.

 

Same here. Never received the Master (Serial) Key. From the directions, this looks like a lot of back and forth with them.

 

Most of the time when people havent gotten their master key after a few days, its been sent and is in their spam. Check there.

 

and spam usually self deletes after a specified (short) time

 

Unless your order is very recent (the last day or two) then we have sent your master key.
We sent them automatically you don't have to request it.
1. Check your spam folder
2. VERIFY YOU ARE CHECKING THE EMAIL YOU USED TO PLACE THE ORDER
3. Some people are telling us they didn't get a master key, but they replied to their master key email with their system ID. Please Make sure you are reading the entire email(s) you get from us.
4. If you still do not have a master key and your order is 5+ days old, please send us a zendesk message.
5. We have a very high volume of orders and emails right now. if your order is very recent (like this week.. or even today) Please give us some time to prepare and send keys, responses, etc.

 

Can you change the email the order was placed so I dont have to use my job email? I already received the Master Key, just waiting for the cable to get here and send the System ID.
