Nice! What did you use to seal the front of the bed? I am getting mine shipped on 18 Dec and I want to be prepared.

Have the diamond back as well. Did not use anything thing on install to seal it and it has kept out the dust and rain. It seals well around the top of the bed. The tailgate is not weatherproof. You can get residual dust and small amounts of water around the tailgate but its not an issue with the way the diamondback seals. Some people buy extra weather sealer for the tailgate. Its not necessary for my use.

The truck looks awesome!!! quick question- did you paint the chrome grille bezel black or did you order one to match the black of the rest of the grille? Thanks!

Getting rid of the chrome one step as a time. Black Tacoma badge overlay and blacked out side indicators from Tacomabeast.

I bought the mountain hatch on sale as well. I went with the black/red combo. I didn’t receive any extra screws though. Mine seem to be tight enough but I’ll probably get in contact with the company to get some. I also ordered the pop lock from R4T and installed that at the same time. Love that I don’t have to use the little key to open the tailgate anymore. E398870B-BD88-446A-96A9-014CD67383A3.jpg

Hey same here but I went with the 5 and a SAE connector in the grill so I don't have to open/close the hood each time. I only drive it to the grocery store on Sundays :)

Seems to be quite a few of us that don't drive the Tacoma much. 30 days away from owning 5 years and it might, maybe, possibly hit 26,000 miles by then.

I'm curious as to whether you have experienced vehicles not starting due to cold or if this is just proactive/preventative. I ask because the climates you both are in appear to be mildly cold as opposed to brutally cold.

I had my battery replaced last winter. It was still under warranty due to truck not having 60,000 klms on it yet.

Cosmoline is nothing like rubberized undercoating. I sprayed a thin coat (because I had only 5 cans) and it's clear. If you lay it on thick, the coating turns amber but is still transparent. There are some before & after pictures here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rust-veto-342-cosmoline-undercoating.651180/#post-22805203 The poster used RP-342, which is another cosmoline-based spray.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Proactive on my part; it's a 2020 and thanks to Covid I save a lot of money on gas (just rolled up to 2900 miles since 4/30... wooo). I definitely don't drive it enough during the weekend to fully get it replenished so rather than face issues a year or two down the road, $32 seemed like a cheap preventative thing. If I drove it daily, I would've never considered it.

Cosmoline, same stuff Europe coated surplus rifles with to preserve them. It's a Bitch to get off the rifles and especially the wooden stocks as the wood soaks in a bit. Quick fix for that is to place the stock in the dishwasher and run it until the heat comes on then remove it. Almost ALL the Cosmoline comes out of the stock. Use a steam gun to get the remainder out. Ask me how I know....

Yes, the ChiCom rifles are coated with them too, as are the ChiCom brake rotors.

Resistance to washout is the reason I chose cosmoline for undercoating. It might even last a couple of years before needing reapplication. After wheeling, pressure-wash the truck. The dirt comes off while the cosmoline stays on.
