In that photo I didn't. I think that was maybe a week or 2 after I bought it. Just slapped my tires onto it from my other tacoma

 

my state scenery is nothing remarkable, mostly flat as far as the eye can see
not likely i can safely pull over or stop on the highway here and get a shot with no shoulder
oooweee look at that them there hills near barren of green trees

 

That's a pretty cool shot. I don't have any open flat areas like that here in socal. All the flat spots are overpopulated with homes heh heh
Looks like a fun road

 

its 100s and 100s of miles of this north of of flat I-80, which is the flat river valley that most everybody complains about having to drive through to get to Colorado, etc.

Ooof, that sounds like a drag. I get tired doing 5 hours of open desert from california to arizona

 

Looks like the perfect place for my turbo build... then again, I have twisty back mountain roads here in Maine too.

That is the plan. This will be attempt number two, as the first truck hit not one, but two deer, as some folks on here will remember. I have a spare engine and a bunch of goodies from LCE to turn it into a neat little street monster. I finally got around to tracking down a good candidate for the build and will be picking it up on the 19th.

 

Sounds like a fun little build. I'm curious what the cost difference would be of adding a turbo vs 3.4 swapping, and the power difference. I own both 2.7 and 3.4 1st gen tacos now. I love my 2.7 but the 3.4 is night and day difference

 

how do you enjoy not having to deal with the dreaded taco rusty crusty?

It's a pretty good life. Although I live a few blocks away from the beach and everything is coated in surface rust. Breaking rusty bolts loose that haven't been touched since the factory is a blast
But no major frame rot so yay

 

its worse east and north of me i live on the edge

 

I have seen those poor east coast yotas living on salted roads
