Switch Pros 9100 install and BS thread

I'm having a shop install the gears, lockers and they're wiring the compressor and switch pro while they're at it... they have already quoted me for everything all together so I guess I will not pull the trigger on the extension after all. Thanks for clearing that up!

 

I hope they know what they are doing. Look back a few pages for another users experience with Saints Offroad installing all that (spoiler alert: it was a cluster f)

 

no it’s not unless you have air lockers. Cut the plug off that has the purple and black wires. Purple goes to the switch pros and black to a ground. The power harness goes to your battery.

you can certainly use that harness but doesn’t make sense to have all that extra wiring and plugs if you aren’t using them.

here is a diagram. The “switch” would be your switch pros instead of a flip switch like it shows.

 

Yes, I will be running an ARB air locker.’so maybe I should get it

 

Anyone have a caliper and can take a measurement of the distance between the threaded holes on the Switch Pros Power Module. Any pictures would be appreciated.

 

What are people doing for custom switch covers? As in a custom sticker on the actual switch panel.

 

How custom? They come with 2 sheets of stickers

 

Yes I know. But be nice to have a "ditch Lights" one. A heated wind shield wipers. and a few others. Master 1 or something. Just curious if people have been doing that.

 

I believe there is a ditch lights label, or might be called A pillar or something

 

I'm having this exact problem. Takes a while for my Switch Pros to "start up". And I did tap the ignition wire into the A/C fuse. What's the alternative fuse to tap into so that I don't have this delay on start up?

 

Yeah that’s what I use. A pillar.

Mine has about a 3-5 second delay whole starting the truck. Also I have noticed the unit goes to "sleep" the backlight will go away as if it is off. Press a few buttons and it comes back on..weird.

 

INJ is what i used for ignition (blue). Low beam for illumination (white). High beam trigger (pink)

If you remove the 10mm from the fuse box, you can unclip and disassemble the harness and come in with the factory wires.

Closes just fine. Just make sure all the wires are inside and dont get pinched by the lid

 

What kind of taps are those?

I’m on the fence about getting the SP, it’s basically $600, what’s the benefit over a larger switch panel?

I love my switch pro. It makes wiring significantly easier to add accessories. You only need to go through the firewall once then everything else is under the hood. You can also customize the switches for things like turning off with ignition, master control, or bypassing ignition and running on battery too.

I have my aux lights triggered off my high beams so they come on and off.

 

Being able to clean up a hell of a rats nest that accumulated over the year was the #1 reason, everything else was a bonus.

it’s so much easier to keep things tidy. Also to completely disconnect all your accessories if needed
