Bi monthly payments to keep interest cut in half an extra hundred an extra thousand every 3 months

That's another option yup. Figure if you pay one extra payment every 12 payments, you'll get a 30 year paid off in I think 22 or 23 years

 

So far l have been making the equivalent of 2-1/2 extra payments per year, hopefully keeping that up will knock a few years off my 15 year loan.

 

Nice I just started a new mortgage and I have 482k to go. But it won’t take me 30 years. It will take me 12-14 tops if I did my calculations correctly.

 

Did you see my post from yesterday about the classmate with Huntington's Disease?

 

Didn’t see it but that is a terrible neurological disease. It can be degenerative very quickly but it’s usually about a 20 year span from diagnosis to death. Sadly I’m not well versed in this one

 

And he was a rarity; I believe he was in his late teens when he got it and apparently only eight percent of people who get it are twenty years old or younger.

 

Yea it’s usually a mid life thing.

 

And, so it's possible he's still alive; I honestly don't think it's right that his parents kept it from him though...

He'd be 32 or so now if he were still alive...

 

That would put him around the average

 

The whole situation broke my heart

 

Any time a parent out lives their kid is tragic

 

One of my teachers had two boys and a girl; Boys are both still alive, but the daughter (oldest child) died of a heroin overdose while in rehab! That one still confounds me to this day...

 

My neighbor two houses down lost her daughter in a river drowning on Fourth of July. Didn’t know that and we swim in that river all summer. Super sad
