Where are Tacoma's made?

I am thinking about building my own Tacoma, but the people at the dealers do not seem to like to custom build Toyota's that are made in Japan. I am hoping that they are made in Kentucky or someone here in the States.

Tacos aren't made in Japan, they are either made in Cali or Mexico.

 

Mexifornia or Calico.

 

Japanese engineering. but made in the good ole USA and they're also hecho en Mexico

 

Wait a sec, have I been in the garage too long? Since when did they start building Tacoma's in Mexico????

Started with the 2nd gen I think.

 

I thought they were built in Japan and assembled in Mexico. And the Beds themselves were manufactured in Mexi-Taco land.

All of the composite beds are made in Mexico.



You can see where your Taco was built on the inside of the driver's side door on the little sticker that's there. Either Mexico or California as others have said. Mine was made in California.

 

It is also on the window sticker when you buy it............

 

Both of my trucks were built at the the fremont plant, my old 03 was built in japan

 

Do we drug test here on TW?

Building one from the ground up in your basement or customizing by adding to it? I need a moment....

OK, I think I figured it out, You mean ORDER one to your likes, needs and wants. You want to mix and match options. Go to the dealer and say I want this, this, this and that in this color, correct? THAT'S what you meant by building....( I hope)

 

I think you mean parts were made in Japan while your '03 was assembled in the US. As I've stated earlier, ALL, gen 1 Tacos were assembled in the USA at the NUMMI plant in Fremont, CA.
