Hey peeps. Does anyone have a speedometer calibration tool? I got a new tire/wheel set up a couple months ago and I've been meaning to do this but I've been seeing that the dealership will cost $200+. would rather throw a little cash at one of you guys. I'm in Fort Wayne but make it down to Indy quite a bit.

There isn’t a programmer. You need to buy one of these

Hmm idk what the heck i was reading then bc I thought I saw something that said you could use the calibration tool on more than one vehicle. So is this literally the same thing that the dealership is doing? Just buying it and plugging it in for me/programming it?

Also, is this the same thing, just different brand? Sorry, I hardly know anything about anything, but im learning lol.

I have no idea what the dealer is doing, but there’s not a way to reprogram the truck. You need an adapter to modify the signal coming into the gauge cluster.

The rough country calibrator is the same thing as the hypertech; install behind the speedo, out everything back together and calibrate it using a laptop.

It stays in the truck all the time.

I trust the hypertech more than the rough country.

A group of Tacoma guys have started doing a bi-monthly cruise around Southern Indiana on Saturdays or Sundays. We just throw a route together and go see some cool stuff, do a little exploring. It's just been backroading so-far, but we may throw one of the off-road parks in, in the future. We thought it would be fun to get some more explorers involved, so I wanted to post out here and see if we can get any interest from anyone. We've all been in Tacoma's so-far, but we'd accept anyone in any vehicle wanting to get out and adventure around the state.

Check out the group below, sign up for the cruise coming up January 23rd. Burgers provided along the route! Hope to see you all out there!

Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.
I have to work that weekend, but I think it’s cool that something locally is starting up.

I'm still in Arkansas. I will return to IN the end of January. If another outing occurs and is relatively close for those of us north of Indy, I'd be interested in a get together.

Sounds great! Depending how many people show up in January and what the interest is, I’ll try to organize another one in February or March. I’m looking at the Bloomfield to Vincennes area, maybe go up a little farther north. Unfortunately, I’m all the way south, so planning things up north farther is a challenge for me. Not to mention there isn’t much to get interested in above Bloomington..

Sounds good. And I understand the line above Bloomington. Coming from the Arkansas, the "Natural State," it is difficult finding much in the way of matched beauty anywhere in Indiana. But I'm always interested in gatherings, getting to know others, and enjoying scenery outside of my office.
