I was there with @poncer on Saturday morning. There was another group of tacos there too. Was my first time at TSF and it’s a lot of fun. Will definitely be going back again.

Yeah, was up Saturday with that other group of tacos. I believe you both were suppose to join us, but came a little too late?

This was right after we did Hoodraiser ha.

Ya we didnt get to Rogers until 9:30 so figured you all left already so we went and did our own thing. Saw a group of 10-15 truck, Jeeps and a FJC on Hogs Back after we came out of it. TSF was busy that day, lots of rigs on trails.

Sunday was bluebird skies and madness on the trails hahaha. We stopped so many times for groups of 6-10 moto riders - not that I blame them though, was a great day for it!

I did some digging on my GPS track and it looks like we got on Firebreak 5 between waypoint 6 and 7 and then took it to the end according to the trails offroad description.

    Big day for me!

    1. NEW TIRE DAY! I've been so happy with my General Grabbers ATX, but they weren't great on ice. So picked up a set of General Arctic LT to slap on my stock wheels for winter ski season. 265/75/16.

So far I dig them, but they are a bit louder than the ATX. We'll see how they do on ice. I'm back and forth to Hood a few times a week, and i was slipping all over the place last year.

Can't say enough good things about Discount Tire on 99 in Tigard. Great guys, always top notch service. Highly recommend them!

    2. NEW SUSPENSION DAY! or at least picked up. I'd been on the fence for a while and wanted to beat on stock suspension as long as possible, but the black friday deal that Ironman had broke me down. Picked up the stage 2 foam cell setup with the heavy leafs. They threw in a deflator kit and a compressor for free! Only heard great reviews, so looking forward to installing these. :bananadance:

    Ok pics!

Congrats! I think you will enjoy the lift.
How long dis you have the ATX on? I’ve been a loyal BFG KO fan, but looking at maybe mixing it up.

I still have the ATX on other wheels, about 18k on them. I'm ok about rotating every 4-5k, and based on the wear so far I'm guessing I'll get 30-35k out of them.
They are C-load 265/70/17 and were much lighter than K02's so that's why I gave them a shot. Not so good on ice, but everything else is great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

That is interesting; I’ve read a lot that they don’t quite get the mileage they are warranted up to. They look super nice, and sounds like they do real good in most situations and are better than KO2s in the wet; makes a tough choice. I’m on pace to get 50k on my BFGs and have done quite a bit of off-roading and highway driving.

Yeah I would agree that the ATX are wearing a bit faster than I would have expected. Probably not tops on lifespan. Cheaper and lighter than K02's, so maybe it's a wash, cost-wise.

Yeah that’s a good way to look at it. Guess the only way to get a true personal comparison would be to try them for myself. The lower mileage would be okay if they are a step over the BFGs.

Sounds like a great day! Word of caution on those Ironman Constant Load springs before you install - post #951 is a worthwhile summary to read.

Thanks! One reason I was a bit hesitant to go with Ironman is that I'm not looking for that much lift. Initially I was looking for maybe 1.5in.
A late night bender with my wallet nearby put an end to that.

My daily added weight comes up to about 650lb I think. Skids, sliders, shell, tent, storage drawer. maybe skids and sliders are too far forward, and shouldn't be counted?

I was worried about the constant load springs being too much, and figured maybe I could remove a leaf if needed.
Now that I have them, I'm even more worried. These things are seriously beefy. Not looking for a 6in - 7in lift.

Dang. Maybe I should have gone with performance leafs and added airbags if needed.

Here is a comparison of another local rigs before and after. He has the constant load from what I could gather. I think it looked good.

Thanks, that does look pretty good. Maybe a bit higher than I would have liked.

I'll post over in the ironman thread moving forward, sorry if I've derailed this one.

This thread is all good for suspension talk, no apologies. We are all here to shoot the shit and talk about trucks after all. Definitely talk to @FashTaco about those constant load ironman leafs.

Ya, got some good info from FashTaco and some others in that other thread.
I've decided to keep the constant load leaf pack and remove a leaf or two if necessary.

Good luck man and post up some results for science. The only major weight difference we have is your tent - which I can simulate by standing on my tailgate (not much more sag btw). I’d still recommend pulling 2 leaves but obviously up to you.

Ironman has voluntold me as their constant load guinea pig/expert and have sent customers who got the constants my way for questions :anonymous:
