Clutch Masters Internal Release Bearing Group Buy

No just put all new slave fork TB and clutch disc and pressure plate.
You have to make sure that the rubber boot is on the pivot ball end of the fork or it will chatter and bearing will squeal.
I learned this.

 

I saw a couple guys that had put 200-250k on their squealing TOB. Another guy think was even more than that, with no failures of any kind. I may just deal with it.

 

I hate squeaks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Of course, when I just finished installation, I went back and saw some complains about the TOB. Any updates from those who had problems??? An anomaly I hope?

Hey man, sorry to hear about your leak. I might still go and try the hydro fix, but is there a way to see where the rubber boot is from the inspection window? Don't have any pictures of that I assume? Cheers

PS: @Zacowacko I just came back from a 1500mile trip and the squeal is way worse than before, definitely don't want to stick with it. Just did 4+ hours of reading and found 2 leaks on this CM hydro kit, but plenty of URD sleeve failures... I think I'll give it a shot - nobody's perfect?!

 

Still back to stock and not so much as a chirp. Havr had more than 15000 on it since back to stock and still have a ceramic stage two clutch plate and pressure plate. Sucks being high gear reverse though.

 

Update on mine. I’m at 8k miles and no issues thus far. Zero squeaks and no leaks. Drives infinetly better.

 

Well, I think this settles it. Thank you for the feedback. I'll get one - fingers crossed that will be the last time I'll have to work on the clutch

 

That sucks. Mine is still tolerable, but it has been getting worse lately. I'll probably try something if my clutch ever goes out, lol. Only has 140k on it, haha. Not sure if i will go hydro or just tsb parts and URD sleeve. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if there are any more failures. Rather not be stranded like whitebutler.

 

I think what I’m seeing here is one person posting a lot about their problem. I’m hoping WhiteButler’s problem is isolated, or at least just a defect. I’ve heard from many more people that the kit has been perfect than people that say they’ve had problems. I think people are just less likely to post a positive review of the product than if they have a big issue. Seems like way more people have problems with the URD kit, and the oem option is flawed and seems like it will inevitably result in a squealing TO bearing. I think I’m gonna go ahead and buy this kit.

 

There's been at least 3 people total with problems and Clutchmasters pretty much brushed them off.

Also, most people don't have many miles on their units yet so time will tell I guess. Mine has been working great but I am a little nervous about longevity.

 

I am up to 13k on mine with no issues this far.

 

I’ve had mine installed since the spring and daily drive my truck. Zero issues and it’s definitely a huge improvement.

 

I like to keep hearing that feedback, as will help me decide, once i eventually get around to it. Lol. May still go this route, who knows. I'll let y'all get the long term test in for me.

 

Mine went for 200k before the clutch disc separated

 

Put mine in today and so far I’m liking the engagement and feel. Loving the silence from no chirp for the first time in 6 years

 

Do you think your clutch failed cause the TOB or did you just have 200k on OG clutch and fail from wear? Mine is at about 150k now. Been chirping since about 40k. Let us know how the new setup works out. May wait till mine fails, as you did.

 

FWIW we have an '07 FJC with ~170k that had the clutch disc separate. no signs of TOB failure.

 

TOB was still ok... the clutch disc just gave out, I’ve done a few hard down shifts and such lol... shoe was just old and abused
