Do ALL Tacoma's 95-04 use the same back windows??? REg Cab, Ext Cab, Double Cab??? I am looking to find a OEM rear slider from a junk yard, and want to make sure they will all interchange before I buy it.

OEM Sliders are 3 piece right? Entire middle slides open???

There are two types of sliders. My 2000 had a split style slider (would be a 4 piece) and my 2001 has a single slider (3 piece).
As for fitment, I am not sure. The extra cab curves forward a bit near the top so that might change the glass a bit, but I am not positive. The regular cab and double cab might be closer to the same. As for differences in year, I know the 1999-2004 are very close. I am unfamiliar with the earlier models.

Looking on Car-Parts.com the back windows are coming up from 95-2000. so I am guessing something must be different between the 95-00 and the 01-04. Anyone know what it is? I am just kinda wondering if the windows will work, but maybe the OEM slider is 4 piece in 95-00 and 3 piece in the 01+ or if it is a complete different shape/size...

    Anyone???

Could swear (usually don't tho :D:D) that I've seen some '01 XCs on TW that were 4-piece. Caught my eye because I had always assumed that the switch to 3-piece had happened with the frontend design change that occurred '00 to '01. :notsure:

Ok so then I am wondering about 1-piece glass. Did they offer it from the factory? I wanna throw a hammer through my slider and get a solid back window. I HATE sliders with a passion.

I have only had a slider a couple times. Only thing I hate about it is with no bed cover, anything at all in your bed, will be in the cab with you the minute you open it at higher speeds.

When you do it send me the latch off yours :D I had to break into my truck at 3am to get my gun (and keys) last year on the duck opener.

Lol... deal. Next time you have to break in I know a much easier way. Wedge the rear quarter window in the top corner, stick a long handled screw driver in and pop the latch open. The latch will only allow the window to open so far. To remedy this, use a punch and little ball peen hammer to knock the hing pin out and it allows that window to open as far as you want. Reach in and pop the lock.

Did you ever find out if the 1-piece glass was offered from the factory? I also hate sliders and want to get a 1-piece rear glass.

^I saw a Tacoma on on the interstate last week... 98-00 regular cab model... SOLID Back window. Not 100% sure if it was OEM stock, but judging by the beaten down look of the truck, and the age of the old guy driving it... I doubt he just decided to swap out back windows.

Regardless.... Someone has made a solid rear window.

My 95.5 4wd xtra cab is a 1 piece OEM. I'll tell you tonight if a slider from an 03 4x4 fits or not.

I put a rear window from a 99 into an 01, and a window from an 04 into a 95. They fit fine.
